As most of you know Possessed and I have been working on a replacement for registration and account management due to the impending BT shutdown. Trying to learn everything about Assist from knowing nothing about it hasn't been easy and we ran into quite a few problems on the way.

With that being said, we now have a beta version of a registration page out.

What Does This Mean For New Accounts?
Not much. There's a new page to register, but you will still be help to the one account per player policy. Don't think you're going to be able to start spamming noob accounts.

There Are Some Drawbacks
Unfortunately, after this DB change honor will no longer update in-game. Stats and honor on BT should work until BT is shutdown but honor will not be reflected in-game. There is no immediate plan at this time to try to build something to track it, but it's not out of the question.

IMPORTANT!
Due to a database error that we discovered on our journey, there is going to be a few users who will no longer be able to login to Assist. An error caused accountnames in our database to be set to NULL for a short period of time. If this happens to you, your accountname (what you log into assist with) has been set to whatever your displayname(what shows in-game) on BT is. If you have any further problems let me know and I can manually change it to whatever you'd like.

So, What's Next?
Next up is to create an account management page where you can change your playername, email, and password.

70 years ago today, on June 6th, 1944, the Allied forces started the invasion of Normandy, France to start the liberation of Europe from Nazi control. I'm not going to make this post long and full of historical facts and occurrences, I would just like everyone to remember the sacrifices the Allies made to help free Europe from Nazi control and remember the thousands of lives that were lost, civilian and military, during the invasion and war. Regardless of  the political affiliation or national hostilities of today, let's not forget the cost of the freedoms most of us enjoy today.

anyone know anything about creating GUIs for c++ programs? I'm looking to create a simple GUI for a simple tic-tac-toe game. The program itself is easy, but I've never made a GUI before. I'm not sure where to start. There are so many options. I was looking into using Qt or GTK, but I also heard Visual Studio also has something for GUIs. What's the best option?

Does anyone have a strong burning desire to help out their fellow AA players? If so, The next mAAp release is drawing nearer and it includes not only new maps and fixes for custom maps, but fixes for the regular AA maps as well. We would really appreciate it if you guys could look for bugs in maps (custom and regular) and report them here so they can be fixed.

I'd like for this to be a news post but I no longer have the ability to do so, so if an admin could do it it would be greatly appreciated.

I have the 4 maps I made sitting on my PC so I decided to upload them for anyone who cares. I'm not sure if they will ever be put into assist (by the looks of it, probably not).

Petrol (New map I was working on for a while. It's not complete but it does have spawns and I'm pretty sure the zones work (like 60%, they were a bitch to get working) It's playable, but may have bugs, missing stuff, ect.

So I spent most of my day today (as you can tell, I have a super exciting life) laying the foundation for a new map, and this is pretty much the result of that. It's only a couple of hours of work and there is a lot of stuff to fix/add remove. More of a test map than anything.

My plan for it is attack/defend with assault having to get to the elevator on the other side of the building. I was thinking about making it VIP like SF Hospital but I'm leaning towards the way bridge does it. As for weapons, I want SF, but only if I can get SF without the 203.
