Anyone want a 8600GT graphics card?
« on: Thursday, November 28, 2013, 22:54:21 PM »
Pay shipping in the US and it's yours. It's this model here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127306

It works fine, I just have no use for it and nobody's willing to buy it. I'd rather see it put to use than to scrap it.

Zoxee, it would probably be cheaper for you to find one locally, even on eBay or Craigslist.

Wickid, it's yours if you want it. It's not a great gaming card but it'll beat onboard video and for some older games it's pretty decent. I actually edited maps with it for a little while.

Possessed, x4 isn't that bad for a GPU like yours. It's good to run high end cards on a x16 bus but it likely won't bottleneck your situation. The BSOD's on the other hand, might just be bad drivers...

it does run in a PCI-e 1.1 at 4x lol, so it rly sux :(
D3d Bandwidth:
VM to SM ~300 MB/s (from 500+)
SM to VM ~400 MB/s (from 700+)
(it was already Pretty low :D)

it is some hardware causing the problem, must be the the gpu or in the worst case the mobo :/
do you think that my gpu is getting "hot" :P ?

I don't mean to brag but I'm rolling a 9500GT 1GB unit. Please refrain from exuding jealousy Killaman.

Damn, all I have is a lame 7950. You can tell yours is better because the number is higher.

Gentlemen, no offense, but it seems that you are living in the Stone Age - these models are the past... In these days, the minimum is nVidia 6000 series. Seriously, it's time for you guys to catch up the present...

As for me, I'm waiting for a three brand new MARS 760-4GD5:style:
What if you could change the world by changing your perspective of it?
Would you?

nVidia 6000 is old too, much older. I'd guess you mean the 600? :)

I know the 8600GT is old but it still serves a point and... I'm giving it away.

The card I use is still ancient and I miss playing games (haven't in 2 years since I sold my GTX 275) but there's other things I need/want to spend money on. I wish I had a newer GPU but it's almost laughable how fast a $300 investment becomes useless. My 275 was no slouch when I bought it 4 years ago, mid to high end range but within a year it was disappointing. Unless you have an unlimited budget to buy a new computer every year or two, you start to wonder what the point is.

Oops, lapsus linguae... Of course, that I had in mind 600 series.

As for my PC, I'm changing it every year or two - I like to be on top... Well, maybe also because of the needs of my work.
