Ok now i ordered a Virtual Server with Ubuntu 2 Ghz 1Gb Ram 100 Gb HDD and 100Mbit Netspeed for 4,49 €/Month today and the Provider say this Server is Gamerserver siutable. So let´s start.

Setup VNC
Setup AAO25
Setup Mods
Setup Controllpanel for Admins

I will make a daily Soap out of it here :-)

Don´t you like Mods? They are the Salt in the Soup :-) Makes every Server unique. No cheating stuff. just lil Fun. The Server is hosted at Webtropia. Looks like they need some Time to set it up :-) But the Price is really good. Windows is available for same Price btw. But i decided to use Ubuntu.

Maybe some will follow and help keep 2.5 alive.

I was looking for something like that but UK to host 2 or 3 Official Game Servers. If anyone knows prices like that let me know please.

DAY 2:

Today i got all info to start!

So tightvnc was installed and AA2.5 is just installing and starting. The Server Name should be -=FP=- Flyingpigs Server 2. Sure it will change. But atm i just need to know if it works. We´ll see :-)

The nano aa25.ini command didn´t work with ubuntu 12.10. no such command. I edited the file local and uploaded it. :-) Now it needs very long to decompress files. But im on a good way :-)

Oh yesss Server is online with very low Ping and SF Mod. Working great. Now just some Cosmetics to do :-)

hi, i made a project similar to you www.freeserver.ca

for you nano command, try that

apt-get install vim

after that use vim aao25.ini

Have fun if you need help just contact me ;)

ah thank u mate!Very helpfull.
But i have another Problem!
When i start Server with ./server-bin GLOBAL bridge via SSH console the Server kills when i close the Console. How do i keep the Server alive without stay logged in via SSH? I tried & at the end of the Command. But that didn´t work.
Any Ideas?

why is this becomming a scope-game? no skill anymore. and, why is no one modding sf server to m16? always this one way street with scope scope scope and super jump or sniping shotgun. why not mod to no-jump...?

its just a shortcut to skills that are false imho.

good question.

we should sit around the map, having a party, no shooting at anybody, drinking beer, having fun.
but some should bring some girls in, otherwise no fun.
