New playeradmins problem
« on: Sunday, January 18, 2015, 09:31:15 AM »
Hello,

I am trying to add some new server admins, but unfortunately it won't work. They can only join as a spectator admin with the pw, and otherwise they'll join as a normal player. Is there something I'm missing here? I am pretty sure I've added the names to all the .ini files there are. Or are there some obscure files I might miss and forget?

I've put them in both the server inis. The one that's a bit more extensive than the other as well, can't think of the names atm.

Probably a dumb suggestion, but did you restart the server? It needs to be restarted before any playeradmin changes take effect.

Not with Assist, it doesn't have to be restarted. That's because Assist checks the file each time a player logs in and sees if that BTID is in the list, it's not built into AA anymore.

Might look bigger, but it aint.....

Oh. I just know they had to be restarted for our official servers...

The .ini with the playeradmins is read by the Assist binary itself which loads and then loads the AA server, the Assist binary does the communication for icons, playeradmin and authentication. It shouldn't have to be restarted.

I did restart it, out of old habit. But the players don't seem to get their rights, oddly enough.

Do you have an aa25.ini file in the system folder?

1. you have to restart the server for new admins get activated (sorry Spanky, but its true)
2. look at your system folder, there is a file called aa25.ini (as Nick did say above). there you have to set the admins.
3. look at your system/server folder. there you should not have made the entries.

good luck

I have set it in the correct files then. So I don't know what's wrong. Merlin, would you mind taking a look at the .ini files for me? I can send them through PM.
