Real life is more important then this game, if people here can't understand that , then fuck them we dont need them here

I for one appreciate all that assist has done to keep this game alive

I for one am disabled atm so that real life is pretty small most of the time.  Have some humility in the face of a crowd of people who badly want to, and you badly need them to, play the game. Wouldn't a successful community like we used to have overwhelm all the complaints and thanks anyhow? How about offering us a way to help besides just donating? I know a little about coding, what do you need?

Ignore that guy, he's a troll (and known caught hacker) and is now banned.
The truth is that when there's unscheduled downtime, most of us know exactly as much as you do. As in, it's not working, and that's it. There's not much we can do.

Who, exactly is a troll or hacker that is banned?

[quote I'd also like you to please remember that our entire staff is completely voluntary. We don't make any money doing this and we do have lives outside of AAO25. We're not all that fast to react to stuff, but this game is completely free so it's frustrating getting criticized when we do all that we can, even when the situation is out of our control.[/quote]

Excellent explanation, and I thank you for it. We SOO appreciate your efforts.  i hope you understand our part in wanting to play your great FREE lol game so badly. And I  again apologize if I seem, or have seemed, ungrateful.

Because you ppl don't pay enough donations to support writing high quality code.

Just look at the status: we are $40 below goal and it's only few days left!

DONATE!

In hindsight, that is kind of an angry smiley, didn't intend that to be the tone of the message.  Thanks for getting us back up.

And why can't they at least TELL us why....or when/if they expect/hope it to be back up.......? Just a "doing maintenance may take 5 hours or more" or "Assist committed suicide internally and you will all die from withdrawals from AA" or at least "we don't know when it wil be back up".  I'd settle for "Hi, all of you taking time to post on our forum. just wanted to say we hear you and are doing all we can to have auth back up and running as soon as possible.". :? I love you guys for giving us this game back, but please communicate a little so we know whats up.

Very loyalplayerly (and respectfully) yours,

-Sam

AA Support / Re: AA2.5 faster on old xp machine than Win 8?

Thats the one. So, since AA only runs on one core, it would make sense that a single core could do it better or as well. Well, at least it was free and it does other stuff really well. Disappointed though lol. Thanks for the help, and man that was a fast reply. Can't wait to get my frame rate back up though. My fraGrate is suffering so bad. Given your info, I got an old p4 around 2.8Ghz, 3Ghz of ram, and an old geforce fx 5200 that sound like they will do better than both. I used to run up to 2.8.5 on that old card and a P4....... u the man grizz. And thanks for all you do for the Assist community. I'll post an update for y'all if you're interested. I can probably slap it together by this evening.

AA Support / AA2.5 faster on old xp machine than Win 8?
« on: Monday, March 17, 2014, 17:15:33 PM »
So, I just got back into AA (Assist) a month or so ago. Using a junky old laptop (Hp Pavilion dv4000 Pentium M 725\512 DDR2 RAM 64 MB onboard Intel Graphics) and the best I could get was max 30 fps. Not very helpful in an FPS.  A friend gave me a Toshiba (C855D-S5100 dual core, 4Ghz ram, windows 8 64bit and dedicated HD ATI graphicssomething like 512Mb onboard) with a busted screen.  So out comes the desktop monitor.  Now, AA is luckyto run 22-25 FPS and gets down to around 10 when running or in a firefight. Its a nearly new laptop because it was in a closet for like 6 months after screen cracked, ran 2 different antivirus program scans, hardly any programs (apps) installed aside from what came on it from the factory. How can this be? And yes I turn ALL the graphics options to lowest, including 800x600 instead of the 1900x*** it starts in. Any ideas? Something Im just unaware of about Windows 8 or a 64 bit OS? Thanks in advance for your time.

AA Support / Re: Unable to complete training Windows 8 fixed.

Didnt want to sound ungrateful cuz I still got by. But you make a good point.  The most obvious 2 I remember are on the obstacle course.  One is that sometimes on the beam approaching the net climb, sometimes where the elevated beam meets the horizontal one, it will let you fall halfway through and get stuck.  And I mean the beam not the crosspieces.  Then on the timed section, when I finished the game didnt pick it up and the timer just ran out.  Both problems went away with a restart.  The training issue went away with a clean reinstall.

I just recently insalled this game on a windows 8 laptop.  The game itself runs fine, but the training is kinda glitchy. Edit:Problem solved, reinstalled . So glad to have AA2 again.
