General Chat / commands
« on: Monday, March 30, 2020, 17:32:46 PM »
Haven't played in years and just came back. I'm setting the game up now and I'm trying to remember a command that allows you to have longer text in your chat. It was something 99, does anyone know. Also it seems there was also a way to change font size. If anyone has a list of stuff I'd appreciate it. ty

AA Support / Re: Windows 8 video settings.

Yes window 8 users have to change settings in the graphics card menu. I think they should make it usable in game for us but whatever, its easy enough to do with the control panel.

Assist Support / Window 8 gamma correction
« on: Wednesday, January 15, 2014, 20:28:37 PM »
So I just updated the assist and noticed you guys removed the old settings tab. Is there still gamma correction or whatever it was called? Also how about the other settings that were on that page, are they all gone from assist now?

General Chat / Re: X-fi settings help !
« on: Wednesday, January 15, 2014, 19:55:41 PM »
There's a difference between buying hardware to have better sound, and abusing the eq system to get crappy sound, but sound that gives you an unfair advantage in AA.

But the difference is anyone that has an eq can do it, you just drop the lows and raise the mids.. Do away with all the bass. Ya it sounds really bad, but I never made mine sound tinny, hurts the ears. The main thing was that it could power your good headphones better and just be "louder" so obviously now your hearing better.

The really bad thing about being able to turn it up louder was the crappy XFI caps. Those random snaps and pops would scare you right out of your chair.

I played for years and never tweaked my ini's much at all, nothing secret, just the basic memory and sound channels. However if you spend a lot (back in the day obviously) on an xfi or other good sound card I see no reason not to get the best usage out of it for your money. I always changed my eq and other available settings on the software. If people are fine with old onboard (and if u have a newer board then its usually better than the old xfi ) and don't want to pay some cash for something better that's on them, but don't judge a guy for having better stuff or the option to be able to optimize it better.

Ban Appeals / Re: Appeal
« on: Friday, November 29, 2013, 17:46:16 PM »
It's been 4 months since you've been banned. Personally, I'd like to unban you but only after you wait a little while longer. Typically we don't unban people but this issue has been brought up before. I've not fully voiced my opinions on the matter so I'll take this opportunity now;

I think we should unban as long as the following conditions are met:
- 6 months wait period from initial ban.
- $10 minimum donation to Assist if caught with a paid subscription hack.
- New account starts fresh at 10 honor and is added to our watch list as well as a public list on this forum.

Works for me

News / Re: FLS Assault

Ganja, it does track when you are in the server, it will show players, kills, etc. However when you are done with the session and tracker closes it none of your kills or scores get added to your overall tracker scores.

It would be nice if someone could talk Homey into adding it like he does custom and COOP maps. Put it in a separate window just for FLS or just let the scores go into the custom map window. Just an idea anyway.

It seemed back when Homey removed it from stat tracking it was for another reason (exploit) maybe? However I don't remember him giving the exact reason. If it is just because of the unbalanced play then he may never track it. I myself had a few hours before and many hours after it stop tracking. I would say if the people playing were clean and not hacking assault isn't that hard. Now I remember many times hackers would come in and just roll on D, killing over half the assault team before they hit the ground. I don't know but I hope Homey might be able to find the time to answer this if you post it on trackers forums.

I'm pretty sure it's not tracked, it will show you playing it but it does not count the session to your stats after you log off. If someone can talk to Homey about your fixed map he may track it again.

Also ty Eliz for doing this fix as it is a fun map.

Cmon, be serious. How many current players using this? That was so old, if 5 or 6 were in fact using it, now that you mentionated it, i bet 20 more will appear. Some stuff is just best left to death...

Im sure more than you think do use it.

Powerstrip was for old CRT monitors, don't think it works well with modern flatscreens

Ban Appeals / Re: Warning: Don't Test Hacks (aka: I f**ked up)
« on: Monday, November 18, 2013, 00:25:40 AM »
The only person that would know what I was doing can easily look back on my account activity and see how much I'm not hacking intentionally. You don't have to believe a word I say but I don't have to lie about knowing I f@#ked up and stated that. Go figure making more of it then its even worth. The real hacks got this game beat along time ago and mods and hacks made this game fun. I've been playing multiplayer games from mid 90's dukenukem3d doom, quake and so on. The games had editors and promoted custom maps and mods. That was fun! unreal really opened up the door and thanks to that engine your playing AA. Now that I have read some posts tonight it looks to me  Assist has just taken fun out this game allowing no mods exc. I understand the reasons behind it just understand the history of online gaming and where we are today.. some would believe that the fun is gone with Assist in aspects of allowing all to make custom maps and mods. Thats the sad point.....

I think assist is a great program and it allows a lot of us to keep on playing a game we love and have played a long time. I started playing this game at 30 years old, now I'm 40 and I still enjoy it.

As far as u testing a hax to learn how they work...I don't think so.. I think you just got tired of getting your ass kicked and wanted to use a hax to be better.. and that's pretty much the same story as all hackers.

I think Dan said they are adding a poll and vote system right on the assist program. You could always poll them that way, then everyone that still played AA would see it. Ganja I understand what your saying but trust me when I say you don't know what "sad" is when it comes to this game. I have seen many bad changes since I started playing it in late 2002 that we had zero say on. I like the idea of the voting system on assist for changes.
