That's not the page where you would change it, have a look here:

With that said, I don't think your problem is switching from RAID to AHCI. What happens in that case is either a BSOD or just a plain restart while trying to start Windows. It really sounds like a hard drive failure or if you're lucky, a crappy SATA cable.

Spanky, some users of Win 7 and 8 have reported that a change from AHCI to IDE or IDE to AHCI has caused a very similar (if not the exact) issue. In this help request thread here (http://www.eightforums.com/drivers-hardware/22126-changing-ide-ahci-caused-no-boot.html), the OP says, "The OS is installed while the mode was set for IDE, and afterward it was changed to AHCI. Now, the system does not boot. 'Attempting repair' is displayed and the process does not advance."

I remembered hearing people say this had occurred. So I was wondering if that could possibly do it. This does sound like HDD failure, but you never know with these damn things.

sorry but that's stupid if u want a sf should have to work for it like we all had to

At least half the people who have their SF training complete (way before Assist) didn't even complete the SF training, bro.  And they do still have to 'work' to get the SF weapon. Don't forget how AA2 works. If you have 0 Points, and 10-20 honor, the person who is of higher honor and more points from the previous set will have weapon-choice priority. And you never really "worked" for it anyway. You endured 'training' that was mostly propaganda for the purpose of shaping attitudes about our American military and getting people to join the US Army. Is it going to make them better than you when they have an SF weapon? No. If the issue is really from such a vantage point, consider the fact that we don't really know if you or anyone completed that training anyway, especially if you made your account pre-Assist.

Actually, dude, has your controller designation been changed in the bios? Go into your bios and see if it's currently set to AHCI, RAID, or IDE. Let us know which one it's set to, and say whether you knew it what it was set to before. For SATA, it should be AHCI.

Yeah, your MBR is screwed. I don't think it's necessarily a virus, though. It could be; it may probably be, in fact. But every single time I've encountered this, it was because of Windows Update.

Fixing the MBR can be quite easy, but it all depends on what resources are on your HDD and what actually happened to the system. Access the command prompt via Startup Repair, and then type:
BootRec.exe /fixmbr

If your HDD contains no ancillary partition housing BootRec.exe, this may not work.

That' s what i said ...

lol x3 --- No, you sent him to YouTube. If you have specificity, provide it. Don't say that's what you said if you didn't say it. If it's because I mentioned the MBR, then why didn't you say that to Zoxee? lolx4

    :D :D :style: :style: :style:

This is perfect.

And now, on top of all the other pluses that come along with this, when admins forceclass snipers, we won't get shot by an automatic weapon! Awe-fucking-some!

I've been trying some things. I'll report back when I find what the issue is, or if I discover some improvements.

Yeah, I totally understand all that, but what Nick just said is the thing that's baffling. If you think my rig is overkill for the game, his is godlike for the game -- ABSOLUTE overkill. And it gives him about double the CPU usage, and he's at a constant 90 FPS, no matter what. Something's gotta be up with that. I'm gonna figure that shit out one day. lol

So I'm trying to find out why AA won't use up more than 7-10% or so of my Intel quad-core CPU, and why it will barely even use the same of my GPU (EVGA GTX 650 TI 2GB). I can run everything on the highest possible settings via the game and via the Nvidia control panel (antialiasing maxed, anisotropic filtering maxed, highest quality, etc); and with these settings, I get 90% until I encounter enemies or a bunch of textures, although CPU and GPU usage remains the same (barely anything) during these FPS fluctuations/inconsistencies. When I put all the settings on the lowest it can go (both via the game and NV control panel), it's the exact same performance, not a tad bit better or worse. That's BIZARRE and makes absolutely no sense at all.

Something has to be wrong. Help? Thoughts?

Drama & Spam / Re: We all want new players?

Adding a rail, eh? lol, I'm still getting used to the fact that we can pretty much do whatever we wanna do to the game to ameliorate things like this. It's kinda amazing. It's way too bad that AA2 isn't more active. I cannot wait for us to get this revival campaign underway. #pumped

Anti-Cheat / Re: fraude ..ba^la..Lucas.!

Damn, I kinda feel sorry for the guy -- not cuz of the backlash he's getting, but because of the extreme stat whoring. I remember when my FR was like 3.16-20 or something like that. It's gone down considerably to something like 2.50-something and has been hovering there for years, ever since I stopped caring about the FR. Even when the game was uber popular, the FR itself wasn't all that meaningful. There were amazing, super smart players who didn't even have "green" FRs that played at the very top of competition. The FR doesn't make you a good player; your PLAYING does. Work on your playing, not your FR. It's so much funner that way -- please trust and try that. It's liberating. I'd be an even better player today if I had realized that from the start of aaotracker. lol

AA Drama forum has been dead for years now.

But Ganja is right; if people have pertinent, corroborative information, they should not hold it back simply because 2 people are speaking to one another.

And I'm sure none of the admins will make a decision simply because someone suggested a solution. If their decision, by some chance, did align with Ganja's suggestion, it still doesn't mean that they did what Ganja told them to do. So I say fret not, and continue along.

Lastly, if Lucas is actually doing this stuff, then these testimonies aren't merely pointless opinions. So if this is all true, what the admins do about Lucas is going to be their decision, no matter what someone says or suggests.

Let's not deviate. Be friendly and mindful, please. And I DEMAND THIS, OR I WILL BAN YOU PERMANENTLY FROM L I F E. You, too, GANJA!

Background Checks / Re: cleaner
« on: Sunday, June 15, 2014, 17:17:46 PM »
I couldn't imagine cleaner being a hacker judging how he plays, alone. You have to be much better than that. When he is on assault, he plays just like anyone else. When he's on defense, sure, he can get a lot of kills, but who can't on Defense???

This is my only problem with cleaner: Who is he? And where does he come from? He seems to act (and sometimes play) as if he's played this game quite a bit before, but there's no history on him. So although I don't think he cheats, I'm not entirely sure what he does to people when I'm not in the server. Perhaps I should recruit him, as he's getting hackusations. The fellowship!!!!

Oh and the medic thing is wrong, Carmy; he's not self-medicating, lolol. He's just bluff/silent commo'ing it by holding shift. In fact, the whole "STOP" thing doesn't happen when you self-medicate in 2.8.5. There was no need to tell yourself, "Stop!" lol, ya know?

And I'm still waiting on someone to post "CHECK THIS GUY: NOOFY!" wtf, community?!?!!?

Now the children of war and cluster grenade from the same clan make an conspired and want to piss me off. No I don't teach you how to do it cause I don't (sorry for bad language) fcking know. How do you take such ideas? I'm really impressed.

Zibi, I do not want to piss you off. Frankly, I don't really care. In fact, I wasn't even talking to you; I was inquiring about macros being banned and if they are allowed. And I ask this because I thought that they were banned somehow. But no one is conspiring against you; you're not that important, soltron.
