Pipeline  - Top windows at defence spawn in the lunch room. If Assault team throws any grenade into that room via the top windows it will not exploded. However, Defence can throw grenades out of Top Windows into the carpark and they explode.

Square - Top of tower where you can fall into the broken corner. There is no way for the player to get out except falling to his death. Both crawling and crouching do not allow the player to move back into the tower.

Unsure if the above are actual map bugs, or simply tactical/balancing tweaks. But just two iv found.

I have run ArmA2 server in the past, and it has killed my Internet and server.
No trolling intended spanky, was just asking. :)

Small SSD are fairly cheap these days, do you think this would greatly help in disk speed and be a worthwhile investment for an AA2.5 server? Or just overkill?

the game itself doesn't use more than 1 core(old game)

Interesting.
Thanks for that!  :D

So I am best to look at more brute "ghz power", than physical cores?
Was going to use a stripped down 64bit gentoo, but unsure if the AA2.5 server supports 64bit OS?
Ram is faily cheap so should not be a problem if I need more, and Internet is 100/40 i/o fibre.

What are the hardware requirements for running/hositng an AA2.5 server?
Also what hardware is preferred to make an AA2.5 server run at its optimal (best)?

Thanks. :)

Bug Reports / Nigh Vision Bug

Has anyone experienced a bug where when you activate night vision goggles and move around, it inverts the screen and turns everything black except some objects then switches back to normal?

It appears for me in all maps, including originals and custom made ones. Does seem to happen if activated by a particular object or room.
Just more of a nuisance than anything else.

General Chat / Re: My Army Icon?
« on: Friday, June 01, 2012, 20:56:24 PM »
Back on topic of verification;
Trouble with .mil email accounts is the person in the military can create secondary accounts called "Sponsored Accounts".
This means anyone who knows someone in the military can ask them to create a "Family Member Sponsored Account" which will give that person there own .mil email and access to the branch portal.
Then all they do is simply sign register to battletracker, and you will have an in game Military Icon without being in the military.
Very sad, but was a major issue in the old official AA2 auth days.

There is also a more trickier way where you google for military social security numbers and probe the military signup screen to see if that person has already signed up. If they haven't, you will then have a full working .mil email and be able to create .mil emails for all your friends.

In closing the verification needed for military accounts is far to difficult to police, far to easy to bypass and hard to validate non US military (if need be).

Just food for thought. :)
