General Chat / Re: Leadership elections
« on: Sunday, August 11, 2013, 02:31:16 AM »
I already wanted to post this in the other topic, but it is locked.

But seriously, I do support this action. I think the amount of security measures needed to stop pit if he still wanted to hack would cost us a lot more, now they can focus more on other things, and in this way it will be good for everyone.

In all honesty, I do not give one single fuck if the player im playing against has cheated in some past, as long as he doesn't cheat now, so we can just play normal. I have never used any hack in this game and I do not know what's it like or if a cheater is always a cheater (which I do not agree with, in that case anyone punished for any crime irl should get a lfietime punishment because they will "always be like that"). All cheats are detected now with the new system I suppose, so he can't do harm anymore anyways or he's banned.

So the only "disadvantage" I see is people who are complaining because of moral issues about cheaters. But with all respect, if he doesn't cheat anymore, what harm can he still do?

I know it's hard to make such a decisions, but I do appreciate the steps you make Jonny, you are a good leader, but don't give up because people are complaining about it. You know how humans are, complaining is a lot easier. A basic thing about humans: It's always far more easy to make someone unhappy opposed to make someone happy.

Now lets move on.

What Dav3 said, imo don't do it via them.

that's a pretty damn complex method. I wouldn't be able to do that.

MouseX=Count bXAxis | Axis aMouseX Speed=2.0
MouseY=Count bYAxis | Axis aMouseY Speed=2.0

[Engine.PlayerInput]
bInvertMouse=False
MouseSmoothingMode=0
MouseSmoothingStrength=0.300000
MouseSensitivity=0.420000
MouseSamplingTime=0.008333
MouseAccelThreshold=0.000000
DoubleClickTime=0.000000

What does the mousesmoothingstrength and samplingtime do? Is it better to put it on 0?

Nice, I thought so too.

one small thing though: Changing this to 1 pixel will also mean you need to double your mouse sensitivity in game in order to have the same speed.

For example my mouse sensitivity now is 0.41, I need to change it to 0.82 if this is changed.

Otherwise you will get many people being surprised ;).

Yea I heard of this and several of the people on it.  It was pretty hilarious as we were scrimming cxn a few times in, of course, a 1st person view server.  I think it took all but 5 minutes of spec'ing a few guys to realize some of them didn't even have recoil.  Anyone that has played AA for any amount of times (1000+ hours) knows what the chances are of 3 bullets from the same burst entering your body at distance.

This is something cxn.intensity / cxn.beyond / cxn.teekay and unthink somehow could do.  So it wasn't exactly hard to spot playing against them.  The thing that really was the icing on the cake was intensity calling us old invite guys "washed up" as they won a few rounds in a scrim.  But what's even more hilarious is their entire team had to cheat to do it lol.

Oh the irony of it all.

I'm so glad you guys silently implemented a good A/C tool.  The scrubs will always be scrubs :)
For some reason it's always the same with these guys. It seems like they have such a low self esteem they need to do it this way and then be proud about it.

Maybe binding FIRE to the mouse is checked but what if you bind CTRL to your mouse via software (I know Logitech will allow this). CTRL is fire in AA and your mouse would be hitting CTRL.
theoretically, yes its possible

PB kick for modded VGA drivers.
why don't ppl help us saying what things can be exploited instead of just coming and spreading words in teh void.
that's mainly because what they say is all detected and not possible anymore without being caught as far as I know.

Tweaking gfx / sound / router / inis gives to those who know how to do it many unfair advantages
against those who don't know how to tweak, such as :

- Make night maps brighter / green coloured so you can see from one end of the map to the other.
- Equalize your sound so that you can hear an enemy throw away a banana on the other side of the map.
- See a litle bit further on long range maps, which is not a minor advantage as some say.
- Make fog almost disappear (it's then easy to be accurate from spawn 2 spawn on maps like Mout or Bridge)
- Adjust connection speeds so you will never get flashed or hear the buzz of a grenade.
- Although cvars catch up a lot of things, many loopholes still remain in the ini files to this day.

- Does anyone really use that? I don't even know about it since I didn't use it myself, but as far as I know you can see good enough without any tweaks, for example on HQ raid, just make sure you see the pixels well and scan your screen for moving pixels. Don't look for visible enemy patterns. That's how you spot enemies.

-These are publically available since 2004 I beleive, and no you do not hear from spawn to spawn, but you can hear pretty far away.

- This is not possible as far as I know, all I do is watch in the corner of my screen, in that way you see a bit further, then aim at the fog where he was, and spray a little bit, certain accusations for no fog will happen.

- I beleive this is always caught by pbss.

- CVARed

- What loopholes? Tell the admins so they can fix them.

That would be suicide for AA25. So many "pros" use this tweaking and would get all pissed off and possibly leave. We can't really afford to lose any players.
What kind of tweaks are they using? As far as I know all illegal stuff that gives you an unfair advantage is blocked by CVARs, correct me if I'm wrong. The only tweaks I know are those who make the performance of your PC and AA better, reducing lag and making the game more fluent.

*YAWN* Still no legitimate reason to change them.
In that case remove it as a changeable item, you are the admins here. But telling people it's stupid to change an in game item and making it a bit faster to do so people do not have to wait in setup rounds when you play scrims is a bit stupid in my opinion.

I do understand your point of view though, it's best if everyone got exactly the same settings. And if you want to change that in Assist I really applaud that, but in that case also make sure you take out some unneeded settings in AA which only makes the game less fluent.

I will shortly summarize it: Tidididi was not talking about himself using any of those mouse things, he was talking about the fact that it's a problem some people using mouse drivers  which have the same effect as AHK.

Furthermore, the binds on numpad to adjust brightness gamma etc are just to make it easier to change it instead of doing everything manually. Just something to save time because you would've done it manual otherwise. It's changing an ingame menu setting,, which is also a default bind to F7, F8 and F9 if I recall correctly.

Since long time, only one person asked me for it. I gave it without any words. This person was Filka, the Omar's friend.

Here you are, have fun with it all. Unbelievable ini tweaks and cosmos lines, with sort of magic binds, colour tweaks, mega sound tweaks. tidididi special edition, limited.

You have simple colours binds which I used in the User.ini file, in NumPad keys lines.
But the thing is, most of the time people who do not know what is possible are the ones accusing other players. I never really asked for anyones ini, and I even shared mine. Why? Because you can't do anything illegal with it. Everything what is illegal is CVARed.

The first reaction I got by other players is that it couldn't be my ini "because it was so normal".

The problem is many people disbeleiving stuff.

Oh and I do agree with you tididi, never take it too serious. I did play the game pretty serious, but I also had fun in the meantime. Everyone who knew Knights a bit better knew we always had fun on teamspeak even during the big tournaments. And fun is all what the game is about. Last week I also had a meeting with my old clan VGO again. Those are the best memories I have of this whole game, the old teammates I played with. Also the other players on teamspeak, I had a lot of fun with you tididi, and many other people as well. That is the most important thing.

Winning a league or being better or whatsoever does not matter. The only thing what matters is that you have fun playing. Now I must admit winning leagues was fun. But without that it would be good as well.

I do however enjoy matchplay more compared to public play. Especially when you have a good teamplay. Not because it is more serious, but more because I like the fact that you play a lot more together.

Still, I think everyone should respect each other, wether they like public or competitive play more, it's their own choice.
