It was the (bad) mouse. Is there a good mouse you guys recommend or just about any will do?

Go to a store and see how various models feel in your hand. The best mouse is one that won't give you cramps or have a frustrating feel to it.

Exactly. Like I said, we can add 50GB of textures, meshes, sounds and other goodies but performance on Bridge, Urban Assault and the other maps will stay the same. Adding stuff doesn't affect the game's performance, it only affects the performance of the map those assets are in. In the case of AA3 maps, they're going to be problematic because it's tough to get a modern map to perform and look properly on an old engine (especially one that only uses a single CPU core).

This was the first public release (it's a beta) and before now, we've only tested on a dozen or so computers so the information we're getting now is incredibly valuable and the next release will be much more refined.

That might depend on how they're recorded and imported/converted into UnrealEd. This is where a db meter would come in handy.

Well, it's just programming. Full volume is 255 on the scale. You can't set it to be 300 or 400.

The distant machine gun fire should not be louder than the machine gun fire from the gun in my hands.

If both are full volume, then one can't be louder than the other. At worst they're equal, at best, the weapon in your hands is louder.

The problem with "I play clean, look at my stats" and "I can vouch for this guy" is that sure, he probably never did cheat because when he tried, Assist kicked him thus he never actually got a chance to cheat. See what I mean? :)

in impact i saw performance loss, fps drops from 90 to 50.
That's going to happen. There's only so much optimization that can be done and without lowering graphic quality, there's going to be some performance issues. AA 2.5 uses an old engine that is really limiting.

Since it's a laptop, maybe it's a low-end keyboard and you can't press certain combinations at once? Try pressing other keys and see if you can shoot. I know on my keyboard that is a little older, there's some key combos that won't work.

Adding textures and new maps doesn't hurt overall game performance. Playing Bridge now is absolutely no different than it was 10 years ago, except we all have better hardware. You can add 50GB of textures and meshes to the game and it won't hurt the game. Unreal only loads the assets that are necessary (it doesn't even load the whole file if it doesn't need to).

AA3 maps that are ported to AA2 will be slower, it's because the engine just wasn't designed for all of these new assets. We're using multi-core assets on a single-core engine so of course AA3 map performance won't be great but there's plenty of people enjoying them.

You should really start a new thread. Delete LocalFiles.txt in your Assist folder.

How did you get the old Radar Compass in you hud?

He's playing offline. The SAI is, and has been, a server mod.
