« on: Sunday, May 13, 2012, 01:15:19 AM »
So for some reason whenever I open the editor everything seems to work fine except the screen is white. I tried restarting my pc and all that but every time i open the editor i get a white screen. i can open all of the browsers fine and it clearly loads maps its just theres no views of anything its just white. Anyone know how to fix this?

First rule of UnrealEd; there are no rules.

It can and will do whatever it wants at any given time. Our editor is even worse, it's a savage beast.

That used to happen to me a lot but hasn't in a long time. Not sure if it's hardware change or just that I don't use the editor much :)

But yea, IMO it takes longer to learn Unreal's quirks than it does to learn the functions of the editor itself. For the love of allah, never, NEVER "Undo".

Well, you can successfully undo 3-4 times at once, anything over that crashed the editor. :P

It really depends on what you're doing. I've had it do it on the first undo so it's my policy that I NEVER use it.

lolz the The "Undo rule" was one of the first rules i learned in this editor. Ive also learned to religiously save my work because you never know when the editor is gonna say "alright time for break"....CRASH.

i happened to get this kind of issue once or two. Deleting the config. file called Unrealed and restarting the editor will force creating a proper new default one.

so i know in other editors ive used for different games there was a way to align textures very easily and im wondering if you can do this in AAEditor as well? All I had to do was click on the textured wall hold down ctrl and shift and click on another wall and i was able to align the two textures. Is there a way to do something similiar in aaeditor?

Select BSP surface > F5. All the control you could want.

Usually you click all the surfaces you want to align. Press F5 or right click -> surface properties. Click alignment tab -> Planar -> click Align button. If you want to fine-tune anything use the Pan/Rot/Scale tab. Click the number to pan or rotate the texture by that amount. To reverse the direction hold shift and click.
