Because we like to keep the game as it is.

The US army actually didn't allow using mods either. In fact it violates the EULA (End User License Agreement) set by the US army and since we don't own the game, we can't change it.

Yes. Hence we don't need any more clear violations of the license.
"The more the merrier" doesn't really apply to breaking the rules.

It still belongs to the US Army whether you like it or not.

US Army is "Publisher" of the game, but they have no copyrights to this game. They should give us game sources, although Spanky said that they refused. It would be great if he show us official response from US Army.

That "dfxrvfpu" is you?

If I understand this correctly, you sent the quote message as a PM to someone?

If that all is true, then you should know you will never get any results insulting people.

Hi, unfortunatly I'm not US Citizen so I can not write normal petition.

viewtopic.php?f=27&t=9084&p=161352

You have writen that game is protected with Agrement with Epic Games.
There are two posibilities you are layer or moron.

Your work is in Public Domain and should be published on reqest. Even if there is some agrement with epic games it protets engine source, wchich you probably didnt get. If rely there is something in agrement it is inlegal due to US COpryght law bla balba somehing.

So please don't be moron share the game.

I genuinely think they will have a good laugh.

Koden there are two ways. US citizen can write official petition, or if one of you know soeone with access to the sources can ask him to perform a leak.

Despite your efforts Petrol, I'd just drop it, there's no way you'll get past their reply:
Quote
the AA source won't be released as open source because of our agreements with Epic Games. They own the intellectual property to their game engine and we just license it.

AA2 is created using the base Unreal Engine 2 but the source code is intermingled and there is no viable way to separate the two.

Bullshit? We would be asking them to violate a license agreement for which they could be sued if they agreed. Yes, it's old but does that mean it's void? No. They cannot give out something to which they do not own (Unreal Engine).

I have asked in the best possible way and though there were promising prospects, it didn't go anywhere. I would put it to rest, it's not going to happen.

Yea spanky bullshit. If license say what Law is saying it is inlegal. I,m quite sure that they don't have unreal sources. They probably just have API which I s protected by life cense but not like thy saying.

You do get the source, we have a copy of what they had, just an older version. You can edit anything you want and recompile it, that is the engine in it's entirety. There's many spots where the AA devs added code into the core engine files to modify things or extend functions. They built upon what they licensed from Unreal. Just because they added to it doesn't mean it's theirs to do what they want with. They cannot legally give away something that is copyrighted by someone else.
