That map that's showcased has GOT to be a private demo map to test gameplay mechanics. It doesn't look like any kind of real scenario. Also note that all the video has no anti-aliasing and looks like textures are on medium-low settings. Either they don't give a fuck about promotion or that is purely video from gameplay testing that they decided to release.

its pretty old video they have and it was mostly for gameplay testing as they stated so ye they have made alot of changes by now and the game looks different than in this video

The map most lilkely is the training/test map Three Kings ->  http://forum.americasarmy.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6604

Quote from: Phoenix

Check out this Intel on a force-on-force training complex codenamed "Three Kings", one of many ranges being built to support upcoming U.S. training and readiness operations in the Czervenian region.

The video is mostly about promotion, very little gameplay on a testing map, devs interviews and the Army core values at the end.

Anyway, a kind guy uploaded gameplay screenshots from the video (devs say the gameplay comes from earlier stages so it would likely for it to have placeholders).

That would have been a reason to avoid releasing it, especially because they claim to be releasing a version for closed betatesting quite soon (and i would expect some of the betatesters to leak footage and/or screens :P ). I don't really care a lot about the next-gen level of effects but i rather care about the quality of level design (the latest map released for AA3, Airfield, was just boring and awful to look at).

Never played any on the AA3 maps online, but just because you said that about Airfield, I'll convert all the AA3 Maps to 2.5...

oops.. a few days late on the april 1:st

These are closely related, so I'll answer both at once.  "Maps" in this particular case is kind of an unclear term.  We are building two large environments (Three Kings is one of these) specifically for a certain type of play.  You can also choose to play on smaller areas within those two.  Each of the large environments contains one medium-sized area and four small ones, though the medium overlaps some of the small.  There are also standalone environments that don't overlap anything else.

Looks like this is the way they handle "maps" now ;)
