Yea I saw this the other day. I backed like 5 bucks. I'm actually kinda excited about this.

Android isn't that great though. Someone is going to end up making their own OS or Linux. Java is a bit a of a weak point for game development.

But this can be used as a tool for people to show off their skills with making games. You never know what possibilities this console can open for people.

Thats true, but the console will only promote exposure. Android runs java, so does almost any computer. Anyone who already made something only has to port it over to work for the Ouya. In a way, anyone who was already capable of making a game would have done it already.

Larger indie developers have already been contacted about the Ouya and have been experimenting with it already. There already is a large base of good developers for it. Truely independent developers will happen very slowly.

But for $99, anyone who can already code in Java can dick around on a nice piece of hardware with touch controls as a bonus.
