Apple brain washing...
« on: Monday, April 05, 2010, 18:26:13 PM »
I don't know what is worse how stupidly excited these people are for this stupid piece of tech or how much she paid for coffee....What a waste. Apple products are like having herpies great fun getting it, not too much fun to live with.

I didn't bother watching it but I thought I would share that some dumbasses on Craigslist are selling off their new iPads for $675 just because they can because the stores are sold out apparently. The only reason why I like Apple is that they try to adhere to making green products and it's actually listed as to what they do. But you pay for that and the R&D of a specialized product and the aesthetics and the name.

In one of Apples newer laptop's the battery isn't replaceable so when the cycles run out the whole thing will end up in a landfill. Apple's manufacturing process's are no more "green" than any other company in china. In fact Foxxcon is trying to clean up their act but they are such a large company that it is taking awhile.

For what it's worth:

Also, the battery in iPods wasn't really replaceable either :)

Mind you I speak of the 98% of users. Not the 2% like you or me who would void the warranty and replace the battery. As far as the iMac most of the harmful toxins they don't have the state of California (the state in which Apple is located) has a ban on them. Not all but alot. And since when is aluminum and steel being highly recyclable new?

lol I love that California thing. It's like it ONLY causes birth defects if you're in California, any other state and you're ok :D Anyway, as far as the alumnium and steel, average users may not know it, honestly. I'm sure you know a couple people that when they abuse an electronic device to the point of it failing, they toss it in the garbage. Even though it's obvious to some of us, stating that an object is recyclable opens up some of those narrow-minded people. If 10% of people are enlightened, it's worth the extra page in the manual or the time coding it for the website.

Apple has had ONE good product- The iPod. Every thing since then has been some variant of that. I too own an iPod that I bought used off ebay and (with Nates guidance) have replaced the Apple software on it. I run a third party iPod OS called rockbox. Look it up its great.

I guess that would be, to me, the 2nd and last positive thing about Apple. They're so popular that there's an abundance of their items around and generally you can find good cheap used ones or broken ones to repair to new condition.
