Anyway, I definitely see your point and it's a good one. I think over-population (or some other issue) is going to happen (if not already) before we start having regular and cost effective visits to space.

Which is why at some point I believe space travel and colonization will become a priority instead of a purely back-burner sort of exploration as it mostly is today (Many countries still don't even have space programs). Its going to happen. As a society we've developed to the point where were not going to let something like a major war or disease (knock on wood) wipe us out mostly like it has in the past. Thus why I believe were eventually going to push hard for outerspace colonization. By 2020 we should have solar power advanced enough to provide cheap adequate power needs to a heavily populated development in outer space.

Youd really be surprised what people can do d00d. I still think that tons of people are stupid, but I do know if you look at 5 year flashes there really is a lot of technology that jumps up, and it can only increase.

Think of everything you know right now that is the most recent high power tech. Now think about the shit you know will be up and coming. Then come back to this thread after 5 years (not even come back after 2.5yrs) and see how long it took the up and coming shit to exist and how quickly you forgot what you knew from the first sentence of this paragraph.
