Linux Server Problem with new GUI
« on: Sunday, February 16, 2014, 19:44:47 PM »
Hello Guys,
Tried to create a Aussie Server lastnight running a back up from the old AAO25 Linux installation created by oicurmt, We updated the client and ran into a couple of issues.

After updating and trying to extract seems that it wont update all of the new maps.

And does the new update allow using command prompts instead of GUI

If someone can place me into a correct topic to help me that would be great.

Code: [Select]

If you do not follow these instuctions to download and install it...

chmod +x armyops250-linux.run
./armyops250-linux.run

When asked for an installation path enter: ~/armyops
Say no to symbolic links
Select Base Install
Say no to startup menu entrys

After some time the installation will complete.
You may now delete the installation package:

Move into your americas army 'System' folder
On our fresh install you would use:

IMPORTANT, Rename server-bin to serverx
mv server-bin serverx
chmod +x serverx

Download and extract 2.5assist:

Used link provided to avoid GUI and tried to load a back up of all old server codes and seem to be getting this error,

Code: [Select]
[aa@vmx16090 System]$ more aa25.log
AA25.ORG DEDICATED SERVER LOG:
CONNECTING
OK
LATEST v8.08
I AM v8.08
CHECKING AA Server Installation
Valid AA 2.5 Server Found

0.52MB of 0.52MB      174KB/s

Download Failed! Check your connection and Retry

Is there any fix to this problem.

We have dropped firewall in vpn host and YES we have checked all Internet settings and all test came back ok :)

Help on this would be appreciated so we can get a Aussie server going asap please!!!!

it must be a problem at your end. i just did a linux server setup like the description above did say and it worked really fine. to be honest, id had a download error and i had to restart server again to go on with its installation. but then all good.
so i bet it is at your end - with the connection speed, firewall or others. and another restart didn't help at your side?
