Maplist empty
« on: Thursday, March 02, 2023, 22:52:51 PM »
Good morning all,

I am struggling to get my Assist server to run sadly.
The server GUI doesn't show the maps, it is only showing Bridge, changing that into Pipeline or Pipeline.aao just changes it back to Bridge when pressing the start button.

However, when i manually change the aa25.ini file in Server0/System to maplaunch=Pipeline.aao it still doesn't work. The only map that is being loaded is Insurgent_Camp.

Also directly via the commandline it doesn't seem to work;
start "" /high "D:\Downloads\AssistServerManager-Windows\Server0\System\server.exe" Pipeline.aao

In the logs i can see this part;
Code: [Select]

After three times, the application is choosing Insurgent_Camp automatically (as a fail-save i think) and that one is working fine.

Hope that anyone can help me :)

Many Thanks all!

They're a little dated, but perhaps one of the following wiki pages would be of help:

Thanks, i had a look and it looks like i followed every step mentioned over there.
What i notice is that the mapname is not recognized at start-up.

Will experiment a little bit further and let you guys know what i found out.

In the meantime, if anyone has an idea, please let me know :)

Many Thanks and have a great weekend all!!

you should try to start the server from a command line or batch-job like this:

start C:\Games\AA250\servers\Server01\System\server.exe GLOBAL SFextraction

I am running into this same issue: Map list drop down is blank and it defaults to Bridge. Server shows in browser with Insurgent Camp but says "Server offline" in red.

I wasn't sure if I should revive this thread or start a new one. Any insight?

I assume I have to edit server.ini but it is hard finding info for that type of thing, I have tried searching but haven't found which .ini I need to edit.

If it makes any difference, I am running the server from the same PC I am gaming on but have a spare PC I will move the server to once I get it all set up.

Currently, I have all the appropriate ports opened/forwarded and have followed the guide step by step.

Something about changing the default server map and configuring a map rotation. I still haven't figured out why maps aren't showing within the drop-down menu or map rotation menu.

Seems like most guides are for the older server manager with the dedicated Options menu. Usually figure this stuff out fairly quickly but not this time lol.

I am running on the same machine as I play on.

If I try starting the server from Assist Server Manager, it tries loading from default aa25srv.ini and defaults to Insurgent Camp. Error in cmd: "Failed to enter ini=aa25srv.ini: Servers can't open network URLs"

If I run the "server.exe" within the Assist Server Manager "Server0" folder, I get no errors. The server loads the map I put in the server.ini, it appears in the server browser, and I can join the server from within the 25Assist server browser.

I have all the ports open and NAT loopback is a non-issue for me. It is almost like the "Start Server" is pointing to the wrong destination or .ini file. What gets me, is the fact that none of the maps are showing up on the Server Manager when I try to choose a map for the server.

I guess I should clarify a bit. I have figured out how to manually start the server and everything works fine, except my admin password isn't working because admin commands don't work when I am in the server.

I cannot figure out why Assist Server Manager doesn't launch the server correctly, or why the map choice dropdown menu is empty, even though all of the maps are in the /maps folder.

Server Manager defaulted to Bridge before, but I changed the server.ini to MOUT McKenna and now Server Manager shows MOUT McKenna as the default, but still no list of maps in the drop-down menu. Manually starting the server does indeed load MOUT McKenna like my .ini tells it to.

I believe there are some outstanding issues with the server manager itself. I recall seeing a similar issue last time I played around with it and wasn't able to find a workaround, although I can't say I tried for long. Your best bet is to run the server as you have for the time being - manually modifying the appropriate configuration files and running the server executable.

Thanks for the reply!

Any solution to the admin password not working? I AM supposed to type the admin password into the normal server password box aren't I? Any way to include the admin password as part of a batch file?

Have you listed yourself as a player admin in your server configuration file?
