Feedback & Suggestions / Running a server - more difficult now - counter productive to growth?

Just a quick note. I've been asked to help install servers on Windows from a few people now and it strikes me that it is a more difficult process to do now for those technologically timid folks. Before, all you had to do was click a few buttons. Now, you have to unhide windows directories, change directory, rename files in dos, unzip files manually, ect. Pretty easy to do for some of us, but not for others. I'm not sure if the goal was to keep non-dedicated people from running servers or what, but seems to me that this might be counter productive to growth. What was the reasoning for it?
