i thought ive read somewhere that there is coming out some new update which shud resolve some shit like using macros ect.

Although the game maybe written in OpenAL, it may also default to DirectSound3D rendering. This happens because the game comes with an OpenAL library into the game directory, which is NOT the true OpenAL32.dll router (the file that will actually enumerate and select the native renderer), but wrap_oal.dll. This file contains the Software emulation and the OALtoDS3D wrapper. Now for compatibility purposes, the developers decided that when you select "hardware" in the game options it links to the OALtoDS3D wrapper and NOT the native renderer (This is a very concervative approach and NOT recommended by the OpenAL comitee themselves).

Does it mean that u can change something in the game to get the xpsound?

And what are the proper drivers for win7?since the one u dl at creative.com dont have even 3d sound rofl

Look tidi this thread was about ppl who dont play aao because they dont have sound on which they were used to.U made it personal revange thread.Pulling out bs arguments.

So lets make few points straight now when u brought it here

Mainstream is low. Sometimes he shoot something, but nothing special. Clear.

This was not at first place about me.Im on xp and my sound is ok:-)

But many players who stopped playing some time ago upgraded to win7 and when they try go back to aao they lose the sound.And they will not downgrade to xp just for aao so they just go for aao3 or bf or cod or we...

My point was to ask some devs if they somehow can make the sound same....its problem of creative drivers which are difirent in win 7 i think....
If its not possible maybe you can put the guide how get atleast some sound in win7 back...like using alchamy or something to the top of the forum or even link to assist so ppl can fix it.


Arguing about importance of sound in aao is bs.Most of the maps are "sound maps".Try to play pipeline without sound....

the sound is completly diffirent than in xp.....u dont hear 3d and u dont hear as much like in winxp......than there is no eq in win7 lol.................thtas the reasons why ppl who were used to xp sound stop playing aao on win7
