There are also rumours that your server might crash if you force guns too much, but haven't seen it happening so Im having hard time believing in it or I just haven't forceclassed enough lol.

Forceclasses are fun imo, but usually you can't use them in maps that has VIP. If you force a gun to VIP, will round end immediately when someone dies. ( Oh yet another place where to dream about new version of Hospital with no VIP and SF guns nor RPG's, maybe night- or a bit darker map and briefcase as objective :) ) I have made a tool which allows you to create totally random scripts without forcing VIP, the tool has instructions how to run it. I know it's a bit clumsy when compared to desktop application, but if you have two displays, you can open the tool and notepad to your secondary display and play with your main one, then creating and saving new scripts can be done in 10 seconds.

About not being able to force on VIP maps and such, that's why there used to be modified map files, with weapon classes being re-assigned automatically. I remember playing Dusk with sf weapons on FUBAR server, back on 2.6.0.
I've also heard the stuff about forceclassing being able to make a server crash, however it has never happened to me. Was doing it from time to time years ago, back when my server was constantly online, filled with about 20 people and never experienced any issues.

It sounds about right. If they don't work properly, I have got some scripts that will work, however be aware that if you forceclass too often your server might lose tracking. Well, at least sort of.

That indeed is a bigger problem. One thing I used to do, on the few maps I know well, is teaching new players the commonly used abbreviations in game, e.g. on bridge ERB/ERC/ERW etc. Especially for the new people who are trying, tiny little things like that can mean a whole lot, and it only takes a minute or two.

There are many things wrong with AA nowadays, but one of the most  counterproductive thing I've witnessed is the noobbashing of visibly new players, low honors etc. Everybody goes all negative towards them rather than helping them, and giving some tips. Give newer players a warm welcome, and in stead of teamkilling/votekicking them when they do something stupid, teach them.

There is no best player for me. There's a group of 'great players' and all of them have their better and worse maps, besides that group there are also some map exclusive specialists.

I disagree, people like sf because it's the easier way to go.

In that way, people would get used to the sf only, and have a too hard time going to m16, and will not try it anymore.

It will not be good for the long-term imo.
It depends to be honest.

I started AA when 2.6.0 was in it's prime. Also known as modfest 2.6.0. I started playing BC with SF, UA with SF, border with SF etc etc.
Switching to M16 was hard, but doesn't take too long to get used to it. What I do think, is that people that have a hard time killing with M16, will only play on SF servers if they get tracked. Which will even create a bigger divide in the filled servers.

To be fair, most of those don't really give you an adventage ingame, it just always felt satisfying to work them out and get them to work. But I understand the objections, for obvious reasons.

oh, didn't remember that ultimate mod had that feature. nice to hear.
maybe ELiZ could "cut" it out there to implement it as a selectable "goodie" in assist.
it's worth do ask for it, i think.
It even was a seperate mod for a while as well. Used to be on the old DG site if i'm correct, but that site is offline anyway. While we're on the subject, I think a few more mods should be allowed. Not talking about game changing mods, but mods that make administrating a server easier. A sideswap could be considered admin assistance in my opinion.
