Hi Killa, with a Radio Tower II would it be possible to simply bin C, and have A and B as random objectives? I think it might be fun to limit such a server to 16 players and keep it to 5 minute rounds. It's getting the map down to fun five minute rounds that's important :)

No worries and no hurries Killa, just trying to get some life back into a dead map that was once rocking :) I think anything more than 5 minute rounds these days kills a map, and RT can't be played at less than 7 minutes and even that gives defence an unfair advantage in that they can simply run away from objs when time runs down.

Played RT last night and what RTII really needs is a 5 minute fun gameplan. Simply disabling C and having A and B as random objs might do it.

If you can have weapons and slots open dependent on numbers of players, what about having objs open dependent on numbers of players? If there were only 8 players for example, only obj B is active, 9-12 players, A becomes active, once all the slots open then C becomes active. That might work.

Nice suggestion by Merlin, as Radio Tower on 8 minute rounds with full teams who know the map still has the magic.

Yeah Bart, I hear you, but I think the magic is still there somewhere, just need to get the rounds down to about 5 minutes and still be fair to both sides. What if there were only 2 objs at A and B, or C was moved to those B ruins Ganja mentioned? 5 minute rounds and one random obj. Assault would still rush CP and it would still be fun for defence to hold it with the 203, and with only one obj it might make for some terrific CQB at the objectives. One obj would also prevent defence camping waiting for time to run out.

The only problem I foresee is random spawns would have to mean open slots I guess, and if defence all spawned at A, assault could run to C quite easily. But the map is dead anyway as it's really a 10 minute map with full teams, so trying to make it a 5 minute map that's fair has to be worth discussing.

Back in the day Radio Tower was popular because folks didn't mind 10 minute rounds. It's unplayable for assault on 5 minute rounds, and 7 minutes, although doable by assault is rather long to keep folks attentions. So I have an idea for it.

Instead of 3 objs, what about one random obj for assault and 5 minute rounds? Any thoughts or comments?

Hey guys, remember when you first started playing this game all those years ago? Sure it was fun, sure you enjoyed it, but don't you remember how excited you were everytime you went up an honour? Remember when you first hit 30 honour? 40? 50? 80? Remember how exciting and satisfying and rewarding that was?

New players need long term goals, new players need honour. Older players need the respect from high honour too, and the perks that go with that. Why not bin the 110 honour limit and just let players accrue honour over that?

It isn't just about fun, stats are a very big part of what makes games exciting, especially for new players. We need tracked servers.

Okay, frag rates do tend to ruin the game, but surely that can be fixed? What if frag rates were no longer tracked and stats were were all about numbers of kills and honour and it didn't matter how many times you were killed as that stat wasn't tracked?

If you want an exciting game again, you need to attract new players as well as older players and make the game exciting for all, so they need mods and tracking (without frag rates).

I don't think 2 bans in 2 years warrants a slap happy ban tag. The Clan has very friendly servers always on line, and there is very little in the way of bad attitudes shown by any PUF Clan members that I've seen.

It's not quite so straight forward. I've only been with the Clan a short while, and they're all decent blokes. I think this is only the second ban implemented by the Clan in 2 years.

For a start, it was nothing to do with Vanoke, in fact he didn't want to put the ban in place, it was a Clan decision after a vote. Apparently the Clan banned Engineer a few years back, long before I showed up, so this has been going on for quite some time.

Additionally, it was nothing to do with him being good, it was everything to do with how he plays. Folks play America's Army for fun. Fun means playing with friends and having some banter. Fun means having mates you can trust. Fun means playing as a team.

Engineer doesn't play as a team, he's the lone wolf. Worse, he only picks sides that are winning and when they lose, he leaves to go find another strong side he can join so he can win all the time. Having someone like that in your team is anything but fun and it's no wonder folks don't want him on their team.

Engineer, we all know you're one of the best players in the game, that's without dispute. Why not just change and be a team player, and stick around with your mates when the going gets tough instead of leaving and looking for weaker teams to bully all the time to keep your frag rate up? That's what this is really all about mate.
