All LPS hosted TeamSpek servers have been down for days (Mafioso's TS is also down). Not sure what's going on.

Wait, wait what? If "fix the height" means putting a roof on the map, disabling dropshots..Spanky is out on very thin ice, especially if it goes for all the maps. Dropshots and spams are a big, even a huge part of the game and is what makes it fun. Don't. touch. anything.
(Just for the record, i don't know any spams nor dropshots on bridge)
Yup. Nothing more fun that dying at spawn without even having a chance to fight.

That was obviously sarcasm. However, I don't support changing the maps as I know it would cause outrage among those that use the cheap tactics. The maps just suck.

Also, to be clear, there already is a "roof" on every map. Some are just higher than others.

Hey guys!
I was a veteran AA player back in the day, haven't played for about 5 years though. I'm going to a LAN soon and I want to bore treat my friends with a few games of AA. I've a few dumb questions, though..

1. Why does Assist use AA:O 2.5? Didn't it go up to 2.7 or so?
2. Is there an easy way to make copies of the game over a local network, i.e not have to redownload the game for each computer?
3. Can I use the Server Manager to create a LAN server, and do people need to login to a real account to play or can I turn off auth and have them play with whatever name they like?
4. I'm getting an "Exception of class OutOfBoundsException was not handled" error message when doing pretty much anything in the Server Manager. Is this because I'm still installing the files for AA? I'm running Windows 8.

Cheers, and sorry if I'm not posting in the right forum. :)

Rhys
1. While AA went up to 2.8.5, version 2.5 was used because it was the last version of America's Army to support Linux and OSX.

2.You can install AA 2.5 separately on your computer and have Assist copy that installation. It will still have to download all the updates and added content though.

3. If you don't want to use auth, you don't even have to use Assist. Just create a server for regular AA and have people join it by IP.

4. In my experience Assist doesn't like it when you try to do 2 things related to AA at the same time. I don't know much about the server manager though so wait until someone more qualified see this.

Welcome back to AA and I hope you enjoy your time. :)

ffs get off your comfort clouds and play new maps.  I've considered playing a few times but yall make it impossible to have fun
Yup. This is the unfortunate situation of the NA side of the community. Pipeline or IC all day every day. On most Friday and Saturday nights the Mafioso server usually runs maps that aren't played much, including mAAp maps. That's probably the best time to play for a NA player.

I just recently insalled this game on a windows 8 laptop.  The game itself runs fine, but the training in very glitchy. Edit:Problem solved, but still some glitches. No gamebreakers..
I'm glad you fixed your problem, but you said there are still glitches. It would be nice to know what the glitches are to see if they can be fixed.

Hey admins i knew i had this account in the past i found it in the aci back in 9-27-2011 being active. it is linked to my ip and my player name. am i able to have it activated being this was my previous player name?

This is the policy. If you had multiple battletracker aa accounts before the rule went into place, you can use those. We will not activate duplicate accounts after the rule was put into place. There are no exceptions to the rule.

Frankly, second accounts are stupid and completely unneeded and the only reason we're allowing those made prior to the rule going into place is because that would be too much work to ban all of them.

So there will be 2 full installs on one machine but in different locations and different profiles. I know that seems long winded but if there are no conflicts it is better that way.
I don't see any logical reason to do this. You're just wasting space on your PC and there is literally no advantage to doing it.

BT, he has BF4 so a BT account I am guessing for that, but you mean one for AA2.5 or can he use the same account?

I don't think BT tracks BF4. That's all Origin exclusive stuff.

Hello,Admin response needed, just for it to be official. I don't want to break any rules.

To be clear here, just another computer.

Steve
If it's on another computer we generally allow it.

yes ^Sold!er thats it, but where can I now log in with thiss account?

If i start up assist and try logging on with it, it says ERROR u have enterd a username that does not exist on batletracker.

I know I dont have much proof  but thats alot for the help!!!!!

thnx,
The username is ^Sold!er..   with the 2 periods. It definitely exists on battletracker so I'm not sure why it's telling you it doesn't.

Also, if you can't get that to work, you said you have some people that could vouch for you, that would be enough.

Well your username would be " ^Sold!er.. " without quotes, so if you didn't already know that, try it. :P
If you already tried that there isn't much proof to go by.
