News / Re: No Advanced Marksman Exploit Fixed
« on: Thursday, March 06, 2014, 18:14:42 PM »
No, what he is trying to say is that an exploit is something that is in the game that the developers didn't intend to be in the game. The advanced marksman "exploit" isnt really an exploit since it works exactly how the developers intended it to work, people just abuse it.

While I don't believe it is an exploit I do agree with it being removed.
The parental control isn't an exploit. However, players are exploiting the option to get an 18C gun instead of 18B. These players are not turning off advanced marksmanship for the reason the devs intended. Therefore they're exploiting the option.

Ah ok, so the roofbug is also not a bug cause its a feature from the original game.
Oh wait, lets talk about pronebugging and whatever more whats been fixed...
Technically the "roof bug" isn't a bug at all. It's just a product of the way the game is made. Players don't actually disappear, there's just an instance where you cannot see the other play and they can see you. Another example of this is the ledge at bravo hole on Urban Assault. In AA you shoot pretty much from the top of your head, not where your gun actually is. Sometimes if you have the high ground, this will result in the player with the lower ground not being able to see the other player, while the player with the high ground can see the lower player. It's just how the game was made. This usually only occurs when there is a small ledge in front of a player, which is the case on hospital and Urban Assault.

I would need a new processor i have two different in mind.  AMD FX-8320 8-CORE 3.5G 16M AM3+ 125W BLACK EDITION or INTEL Core i7-4770K 3,5 GHz LGA1150 which one is better? Usage would be gaming (cs:go, bf4, cod bo2, aao, insurgency and some new games) and Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Premiere Pro etc.
The Intel i7 4770K blows the AMD CPU out of the water. However, it's almost $200 more than the AMD FX 8320. ALso, if you're looking at getting an AMD CPU, the 8350 should be your choice, not the 8320. Regardless, the 4770K is easily better than both, although is costs as good amount more. If you're looking for a cheaper Intel CPU (4770K runs for about $340 USD) I'd look at the Intel i5 4670K. The i5 4670K is still better than any AMD CPU and costs only $240, $40 above the 8350.

It also costs $300 more for the same performance. And his monitors are still 1080, its not like hes going 1440 or something. So if he is running 2 780ti's he should have no problem at all plus saving around $600.
While the vertical pixel rate is 1080 on that monitor, it's a super widescreen monitor, so a much higher resolution horizontally. More vram would also help out with multiple monitors. Not to mention vram usage in games goes up allt he time and 6gb of it means the GPU is safe to max things out for quite a while.

Well another thing to keep in mind is that the titan is a waste of money in comparison to the 780 ti. A 780ti out performs a titan and is cheaper. If you must SLI (which i would never recommend) i would go with 2 780ti's
You're wrong. A Titan Black is pretty much the exact same gaming performance as the 780 Ti. However, it benefits from the much larger 6gb of vram (double the 780 Ti), which is good for the very high res monitor he's getting and even better if he wants to use 2 monitors.

I fixed it.  It seems you have to complete the trainings in order.  For example once I completed Medic Training the Sniper trainings unlocked.  I assume after I compelte the Sniper training the SF will unlock.
Ah, yeah, that's how it works. Glad it's not broken. :P

Hello,

The 2 screen option would require 2 Titans one for each screen, as they would be running a virtual desktop between them. This would be my hope anyway, not sure if they can be configured that way at the moment. The two monitor option would be the 21:9 and a 16:9.

The other thing about twin Titans is that today it is overkill, but next week it will be needed . . . . well a couple of years. If you don't buy them together it is bloody hard to buy one later that would be a perfect match.

Steve

Didn't realize you planned to run another monitor alongside the 21:9 one. Doesn't change my opinion though. The Titan is more than capable of running two screen. I'm assuming you're not going to be gaming with both screens so 1 Titan should suffice.

Problem actually.  I am unable to do the the SF and Marksman trainings it says I need to be minimum Honor level 15.  The trainings are listed as unavailable even though I am actually 49 Honor and I have completed Basic training and I got a 38 in the Marksman training
That sounds like a big problem. I've never heard of that before but I'll look into it. Keep checking though.

Hello,No, four would be extreme. Looking at 2 because of screen size and the possibility of two screens.
vram is what you need for higher resolutions and SLI doesn't give you any more vram. SLI 6gb Titans will only give you 6GBs of vram. You don't add them. Not to mention 6gb of vram is way more than enough for the resolution of the monitor you posted. The second Titan would be wasted 99.9% of the time. One will max out anything under the sun at your monitor's resolution. If you feel comfortable with 2 though, then have at it. I look at it this way, if you buys one Titan and it's not enough, you can always buy another one. Whereas if one titan is enough, you just saved a ton of money.

If you don't want external audio solutions I've heard a lot of people recommend the ASUS Xonar soundcards over Creative. That might be something worth looking into.

I realized you couldn't use newegg. It was just to show you my recommended GPU. However, you're ambitions for a PC are much larger than I thought. Bordering on the absurd.

You're going to  SLI Titans? That's a bit extreme.
32 GB of ram? What's the point?
Are you just spending money to spend money?  Sorry, I just can't fathom spending that much money when you'll get the same experience from a machine a fraction of the price. :P One thing is for sure, you wouldn't have to worry about an upgrade for an extremely long time.

Also, if you want the best sound (since you seem to be going for the best of everything else) you don't want a creative soundcard. An external DAC and a good pair of headphones (not a headset) is what you should get.

Here's another possible solution. Put an announcement on Assist that exploiting the 18B slot to get an 18C will now be a bannable offense. This will deter most of them and the rest will get caught eventually by the community.

EDIT: Talked to roxii. He denied it at first. Then he tried to tell me he had an old version of assist, but agreed to stop exploiting it when I asked him, so we'll see. I told him it may become a bannable offense.

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/34HZf AMD Setup lol :D

24" Screen FULL HD, 1ms
Full ATX tower
Asus Sabertooth R 2.0 good mobo, allow over/underclocks (supports PCI 3.0?)
2 way Crossfire, 2 Radeon 290 (same performance as 290X, less buggy)
Creative Audigy Soundcard.
Blue-ray Writter.
A Mechanical keyboard.
16 gb of RAM 1866, (4x4gb)
1000w PSU, 80 Plus Gold
OCZ 256 GB SSD, 1TB WD raptor 10.000 RPM
I didn't found a FAN Controller.
Base Total:   EUR 2143.47
If he has the money to spend, going AMD for CPU is a joke. Yes, the 8350 is a damn good CPU for its price and can run any game, but it's still not really comparable to a newer i5, much less an i7 for gaming.

http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/62166-amd-fx-9590-review-piledriver-5ghz-15.html
Note the 9590 is better than the 8350. Also note the 9590's ridiculously high clock and power consumption.
http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/62166-amd-fx-9590-review-piledriver-5ghz-17.html
In other words, the i7 4770 pretty much beats the 9590 in every way and draws much less power and produces much less heat at a lower clock.  Also keep in mind that the 9590 is AMD's best offering, while the 4770K is not Intel's best CPU.

Hello,

Generally if you are building a PC for gaming, it can handle anything else.
This is simply not true. Intel has a HUGE advantage over AMD in the gaming department. However, AMD CPUs still beat out Intel CPUs occasionally when it comes to other programs due to more cores and different design. Of course this is keeping in mind comparative price ranges. I would go look up some benchmark comparisons that use more than just games.

There is something you might want to keep in mind though. The new consoles both have AMD CPUs in them. Whether this will affect how games are made for PC as well has yet to be seen.

For educational purposes i'd love to make a video with me having no recoil macros on my mouse+keyboard, contra not having it and recording that aswell, and pointing out what to look for. It is possible to spot, if you know what you're  looking for. Demos are the only way to catch these boys. Give me immunity and i'll go ahead.
Immunity? Just do it offline and not through assist or on an assist server.

Using time played to decide honor is difficult as it's all guessing on how many point were earned, and I don't like that.
I went ahead and gave you 20 honor. If you ever find a screenshot or some other proof of your old honor you can always come back and ask for it to be updated again.

Hello,

Budget, yeap I should of mentioned that. My last system was in the 5K range and that is for all hardware and O/S's, so it is not so much of a budget. That is also very flexible but will be kept sensible.

I would like a pair of 780's or what ever is about when I build, but I also have to think about space and other boards.

Also, as this does effect what is available, I am now in the UK not the USA. Some thing are not available in the UK same as the USA.

Just a few other basics that might be important.

Case, big, black, nice clear side, lights blue.

It goes without saying, but will just in case, must be OC'ble, even if I don't. I tend too under clock a little for better stability and longer life.

My last system had 2 extra panels on the front, one for the Creative Labs sound card, I/O's and knobs and a second with fan control over rides, nice digital display with temps.

Have not decided about cooling yet, options are 1 - standard fans, 2 - CPU liquid cooled the rest standard fans, 3 - everything liquid cooled.

Have also run one system with 2 PSU's. 1 was for the mother board and the other for the mechanical devices ( fans and drives ).

Steve

5K? Holy hell you can build one badass computer for that. :P

PC hardware changes all the time, but pretty much you'll just be looking at the latest Intel CPUs and Nvidia GPUS (unless AMD ever gets the price down on their GPUs). All of the high end Intel CPUs are normally very overclockable (the K models) but it would b ebest to look into that as I don't normally follow the overclocking scene.

GPU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487003
I wholly recommend EVGA for Nvidia GPUs. Best customer service I've ever dealt with next to Amazon.
Have you ever SLI'd GPU before? They cna be a headache I hear. Games may not support SLI all that well and stuttering can occur. However, you can max any game with a single GTX 780 Ti alone so you wouldn't have to worry about that.

CPU
Like I said, any high end Intel CPU would be good. Their top CPUs are 6 cores, but cost over $1,000.

Motherboards are a bit trickier to pick the best one. It all comes down to preferences. I've only used Gigabyte mobos and they've served me well. I've heard EVGA and Asrock makes good mobos too but I haven't really looked into them much.

RAM
Without a budget you can probably go for 16gb of 1600 ram. You can get faster ram, but there really ins't much point in doing it.

What exactly is your PC going to be used for? If it's just gaming you could probably scale back a ton of uneeded stuff. Why spend more money than you need, right?

This is my quick advice.

Intel CPU. For gaming it's not even a competition anymore between AMD and Intel, Intel wins easily. Get the latest i5 or i7, you can't go wrong.

GPUs is a bit more tricky. The race is a lot tighter but Nvidia has an edge for one reason. AMD's best cards' prices have gone through the roof. Apparently AMD GPUs are amazing for litecoin mining so everyone is buying them up and the prices have increased dramatically. If you want a beast GPU, look no further than the GTX 780.

Ram is easy and it's dirt cheap right now. I'd recommend 8gb of 1600 DDR3 ram. You can go over 8 if you want, but it won't be needed for gaming.

1200 watts is way overkill unless you're triple SLIing GPUs. 650-700 watt PSU of a reputable brand is perfect. I run my system off a 500 watt Corsair PSU with a Phenom II X6 GPU and a Radeon HD 7950 and it works.

What's your budget though? I can't suggest actual parts until I know a budget. Will you need Windows? Or do you already have it? Mouse? keyboard?

That is sufficient proof for your honor. I updated it to 49 and it should change the next time you log into Assist.

As far as training goes, there is currently no way of updating training so I'm afraid you'll have to do it again.
