Games & Programming / Re: Cooperative FPS anyone? (Player VS AI)
« on: Friday, February 20, 2015, 16:13:04 PM »
Player vs AI? Very often ... with my own AI. I do not say, others AI are not good enough, but I do this for testing purpose. Sometimes they cooperate - sometimes not, but funny things happen, when you trying to implement human behavior.

Ps: But there is bright side - I didn't saw so many people on this forum at one for a long time.

....
and some one mentioned a VOTE ?   and also said VOTES came from FORUM USERS MOSTLY  , well that seems very correct
...
IF YOU DONT PLAY  DONT VOTE ....
...
You see, problem is that most of the active players (~90%) simply refuse to vote - they don't give a shit ... But if there is something wrong with new update, they all come to the forum to complain ... you can't complain when you didn't vote - period ...

... and that's why I wanted the voting system to be mandatory.

....
i say a great %% of posters are admins  noobies or members that DONT even play the game.
...
... and you are proffesional, are you? Unlike to these 90%, at least they care ...

@august: I'm glad that someone finally took the initiative ...

As for the name / banner: should be easily recognizable and readable at the same time. Furthermore, acronym CM (Client Manager) should be a good addition.

That's optional. Assist can download all the files for you from SourceForge. The 'original installer' option was more widely used before the AA devs shut down authorization, there was quite a big community playing 2.5 an Assist was an add-on game manager so it had to find your current installation of 2.5 and copy it over. These days, I'd imagine most people just let Assist download all the files automatically.
Yeah, I know ... But most probably once published, Assist will needs to go back with the game installation procedure to keep the proper aspect of copyrights / license. Downloading the game itself and its installation should stay optional - only modified stuff can be downloaded automatically. Better advertising - as I stated in RM ... - will push this project forward.

... not sure if I'm clear enough ...

@KiLLaMaN : It's for Assist, not the game itself ... Make Assist public, provide download link to the original game and all necessary modified files. To make it work,  Assist code needs to be changed, because from now the game must be installed (not sure, maybe there is another way ...) from original installer, then modified files ...

We are able to recode it, and make it looks and bechieve just like original. We just have to extract some constats like: movement speed, air friction, ground fricition, bouncing, throw distance....
You have no idea what you talking about ...
Besides, porting to a different engine it's a worst scenario - translating the code / phisics will be impossibe in term of duplicate AA2.5 game mechanics.

... if ever (I suggested this before ...) the best option is to port this game to UE3 - UDK is for free (I would suggest UDK-2009-11-BETA ... installer is very lightweight (only 600MB), very stable and it has all you need to create a new game.  UnrealScript can be ported directly because of backward compatibility. Models and animations can be use from AA3 - only its Net code needs to be rewrite from scratch.

Lord-of-War : I hope, you realize until now that your previous post prove nothing, but you're stupid enough to post this disgusting picture here ... Here where the topics are: human life and religion. Is this your definition of Freedom of Speech / Expression ..? If so, you have no idea what 'Respect' mean.

... Ignorance is a form of death ...

That is just a nonsensical statement... You can burn your flag if you want to. Nobody is going to come knocking on your door and arrest you or gun you down. Therefore your argument is invalid.
You're missing a point ...

Please elaborate on what you mean. You have a habit of not explaining things.
Read something about Politics and Social Behavior.

And yes, yes you can have respect for something you make fun of.
Not this kind of fun.
Anyways, if you think you 'have respect for something you make fun of', then:
1. What you feel is not 'respect'.
2. Your Faith is 'driven' by Fear.

BTW: I'm only one here who's trying to stay on topic ..?

... At least here in the US I could make any picture of Obama I wanted and I'd be completely safe from prosecution by the US government. Nobody, the government or the people, would care. At least not enough to murder me. ...
Yeah, you Americans ... You can burn your flag without hesitation, but not We ... Not because We can't, but because We won't ... think about that.

As for Freedom of Speech / Expression: In reality it's just a constitutional illusion of this Freedom.

You can laugh about something and still have respect for it ...
No, you can't ...
Second: You don't need to 'clarify' anything - Christians were just an example.

Ps: I know my English is bad, but I don't remember saying 'they will kill him for this'.

It's the entire magazine that had such humor, that was open minded, not one guy ;) I believe autoderision (does that word exist in english?) is the funniest humor, pitty the terrorists didn't think that way
Well yeah you don't have to find everything funny, you don't have to agree but you shouldn't act towards their freedom to express themselves imo. But I can understand that some people find this offsensive
I can't agree with this ... not in this case.
What they (Hebdo and others) did was stupid and irresponsible - there was no point in doing this. Moreover, it has nothing to do with Freedom of Speech / Expression, it was nothing but provocation ... Stupid provocation, because is not like nobody know what is Jihad and can not predict their reaction to such humiliation ...
There is something more important like RESPECT and Freedom of Speech / Expression shouldn't cross its thin line. How you can expect from Muslims to respect Christians when Christians don't respect Muslims.
... Each stick has two ends ...
If you can't understand that, I can't help you - nobody can.
... or maybe ... Make a caricature of Queen Elizabeth II in 'compromising' position - the British will show you very quickly the boundaries of your Freedom of Speech / Expression.

Last thing:
Killing those people was wrong ... Burning their houses, cars, agency to the ground - yes ... But this, this was murder with cold blood.

If you have Windows OS, then check if per 'accident' at this day Windows Update didn't install something. If true, use System Restore to revert changes with Last Restore Point.
- For the future, disable automatic update. In most of the cases it's rather messing up OS than fixing anything.
