I could be wrong, I dont remember my actual score but it was slightly above normal, so I stayed modest and posted 20/20, quite possibly 20/19 I dunno. Perhaps my use of PERFECT is incorrect, but im referring to normal or above normal as perfect. Normal average vision is refereed to as 20/20. Higher is worse ( 20/40 ), lower like your suggesting ie 20/12 or 20/15 would be simply be above average with 20/10 being double normal.

I too have played since 1.7 / 1.8.

I have a modern computer, 22 / 23 inch running at 1680x1050. WITH the font updated, it is ridiculously huge hogging screen real estate. I also have perfect 20/20 vision. I sit about an arms length away. I can read it perfectly fine with the small default, and it saves screen space for enemy moment. There is absolutely no reason the chat font needs to be near the same as the hud / ammo / nade count and so on. Pure madness.

Yes, you can disable it. That is beside the point. Im just saying I dont see why things like this are made default. I not once had heard anyone complain the font was too small, ever.

The font remained the same size right to 2.8.5 no? Why did the army never change it? - likely because it was sufficient and a few complaints dont validate a change, especially to make it a default.

Even spanky said it was a few people complaining so eliz decided to make it a project. So cool, you make a new feature for people....Thats great. But why would this become the standard default?




If the majority enjoy the large font, so be it, by all means if it should indeed be a default enabled. But I do not see how anyone would prefer to lose screen real estate for a game. Are you really doing that much chatting?

Simple question. Do you have the massive SAI font enabled or disabled?

This thread is not to argue nor stir sh1t up. Im interested in seeing how many people play with the font huge or not.


Info if you are unfamiliar with the scenario:

Default font was made huge. If you were unaware - it is possible to revert back to default but you need to edit bDisableCustomConsoleFont=True


Assist > Settings > SAI Settings > bDisableCustomConsoleFont=True

I should almost add a 3rd option of: I was unaware I could make it smaller.

The HWID issue was fixed (or so I've been told). Does the program give any other advantages? If so, it's bannable. If not, it just shows a lack of character.

Reading about it makes it seem you can do a ton of stuff. Is it actually useable with aao / assist? Who knows unless you try.

Ban the fuckers if they are running it while playing / assist is open. If they happen to have it open with assist and aao, its not for shitts and giggles, or because of its neat icon and other aesthetic reasons. They are clearly up to something. - maybe to make the font smaller

Dav3, the problem, as usual, with your assumptions is that you assume you're right. We aren't sitting around bored thinking about useless features we could add to the game. Someone (I'm 99% sure it was outside the admin/dev circle) came and asked about the possibility. ELiZ, being the kind of guy that likes a quick challenge, looked into it. It was quick to implement so why not do it? Making the game more flexible is always a worthwhile investment of time. Making the text larger, it just so happens that I enjoy it, if I do happen to play.

I find it absolutely amazing that you continue to complain about the game and our work yet you still play it. Are you a glutton for punishment?
