General Chat / Re: Is AA2 beter than AA4 YES / NO
« on: Monday, September 16, 2013, 15:21:23 PM »
I think many of you are still getting it wrong, it's Proving Grounds, not America's Army 4. It's a different game. It's not yet as refined as America's Army 2, not it has the same approach. IF anything, one thing i like of how it's running right now, is that it seems that the default server setting is made to continuosly run through several maps, and since there are plenty of servers running on what i guess is the default setting, the server isn't hosting the same mission gameplay 24/7 as i see happening on plenty of AA2 Assist based servers.

Server Support / Re: TRACK Back modded server?
« on: Sunday, September 15, 2013, 12:33:03 PM »
Can we track back modded server?. Please.. we together keeping this game alive. Its doesnt matter Modded or old school lover, we play & keep playing because we love this game so much!.

Your question implies taking back the personal stats tracking for modded gameplay. Modded servers are still available through the server list, you can still authenticate through the system and play on them. How can it be not enough? Why are personal stats so important?

Go to local reliable pawn shop i bought a sweet turtle beach x 12 headphones with microphone retails $59.00 for $34.00 nice sound.

Anyone know if you can talk to teammates with microphone while playing AA 2.5 through the game system or do you need Skype or Google to do it?

You do need a 3rd party tool, almost everyone use Teamspeak.

That's a sound file, wrong or corrupted file perhaps.

The thing is, i believe it's like comparing apples to oranges (or lemons, if you like!).

I enjoyed the combat medic part on Proving Grounds. And a few maps are truly interesting (on Proving Grounds, being fast paced). I really like how they made the whole Hospital. Bridge instead looks and plays awful to me.

hooah

Necroposting (last reply older than a year)...anyway, i believe the map was released as mission capable around the time of the 2.8 version, and as such is not available on this version.

or we could import/incorporate these maps into arma 3 and continue there

Every game features different mechanics, porting any of these maps to another game that does not uses the Unreal Engine most likely means having to rebuild missions as a whole, aside of the gameplay pace, i believe most Arma 2 and 3 missions are immense in size compared to an average AA mission level.

There's a lot of detail in the original map. How will it perform?

But i like the idea of playing something like that on AA2.

Troll youtube for AA4 videos and even AA3 and older aa2.

Comment that aa2.5assist is still around.

From what I see many people say they want 2 back and ive commented a on a few. Hit likeon these comments too! Post the vids if you have commented and others can view it and like it.

Sadly aa4 seems just like cod and bf and exactly what killed AA in the 1st place. aa3 was trash and sadly 4  looks the same! :(

America's Army 3 was not what killed AA2. Time and players dropping in favor of newer games was what in the end took the game down. Proving Grounds is just what the name stands for, a series of proving grounds, with the exception of a few real-scenario levels (Bridge and Hospital). It's fast paced but as a whole it makes much more sense than what AA3 used to, and for a beta it works very decent. If you want to get a bit more realistic try the "hardcore" mode, some features are disabled and it's not as rushed as the normal gameplay.

Ran out of virtual memory. To prevent this condition, you must free up more space on your primary hard disk.

Nope, it seems only 1 module is either working or being used (if you actually have 2 installed). Anyway Win XP 32bits won't address the whole 4gb.

P.s. the psu is way an overkill unless you plan to get more demanding hardware.

mAAp Project / Re: MP_BREAKOUT UPDATES
« on: Saturday, August 31, 2013, 11:53:01 AM »
hey there players. i just wanted to inform those who didnt know that im currently updating the map Breakout. The map seemed a lil one sided to me (In Def's Favor), so i decided to do a rebuild and make things more fun on the map and add some zest to it. it was a great map and always will be, but i think this version will be more enjoyable for all players. So here i will share a few screenshots of what i have. I will also post what i fixed, what i added and what else needs to be done to make it 100% ready. at its current stage i would say its 99% ready. so here we go

Fixed:
Zone Issues (zone portals, etc...)
Optimization
Nade Count (use to be 4, now its 1 per player and theres a few roles that may have 2 nades, but lost 1 flash)
Report In Locations (there use to be like 4-6, now i have about 15-20 unique report in locations)

Added:
New Textures (walls,flooring,etc..)
A 3rd way to access 2nd floor
Visual Effects
Working Forklift (Forks Go Up And Down)
Carriable Objective To Extract (spawns in 3 random places)
Rearranged Some Rooms
2 small easter eggs (just something to smile at)
As stated above, More Report In Locations :)
Updated Mission Briefing

Nice! Breakout was one of my favs, the main room looks spot on (not sure about the lighting - ill check that ingame). Both the control and the conference room might use a different wall texture than the bricks one.
