I just came across this program and it looks really good. You do need to know a couple things about your router but it should make the process easier. Check it out and report back if you've used it.

I also have mixed feelings but I gotta lean towards the fact that it will be an awesome game. Remember, Infinity Ward is a bunch of people that got P.O.'d at EA for some reason and thought they could do better. They've done good but I don't think they have the authenticity that MOH brings. MOH is like AA except with a bigger budget. EA already has the storyline, concept graphics and probably loads more done. Hell, they've probably started work on the actual game with coding and modeling and it's still a year out. I don't see them as trying to rush it to compete with Call of Duty. It more looks like they waited until MW2 was out to announce this game which in my opinion was a smart move. I will be getting the game and I'm sure many hairs will stand straight up while playing it.

Games & Programming / Medal of Honor comes back in Fall 2010

EALA and DICE collaborating on long-rumored reboot of classic series, which will follow modern-day special ops commandos in Afghanistan.

The past week has seen several major news stories centered on Afghanistan, culminating in last night's announcement by President Obama that is he is dispatching 30,000 more troops to the war-torn nation. Today, Afghanistan figured prominently in the game world, when Electronic Arts announced it would be the setting for the long-rumored reboot of its Medal of Honor franchise, titled simply "Medal of Honor."

The new face of Medal of Honor.

Due out in fall 2010 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, Medal of Honor will be the first installment in the once-top-selling series to not be set during World War II. The first-person shooter will instead focus on a member of the most elite group inside the modern-day US Special Operations Command, the shadowy Tier 1 Operators. EA says its Los Angeles studio has been working closely with actual members of the group, whose real-life experiences will provide the basis for the game's story.

In a statement, executive producer Greg Goodrich said EALA is emphasizing realism in the game. "When we first set out to reinvent Medal of Honor, we wanted to stay true to its roots of authenticity and respect for the soldier but bring it into today's war," he said. The most popular military shooter to date, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, took some criticism from reviewers for having a highly implausible storyline. Its developer, Infinity Ward, was created by former Medal of Honor developers who left EA in 2002.

While EALA will focus on Medal of Honor's single-player campaign, another internal studio, EA DICE, will be handling the multiplayer mode. The Swedish studio, formerly known as Digital Illusions CE, is renowned for the multiplayer modes of its Battlefield series, which will continue next March with Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

EA did not announce any further details on the game other than its cover art. However, the game's official Web site shows its setting will be in eastern Afghanistan, just southwest of the mountain stronghold of Tora Bora where Tier 1 Special Forces almost captured Osama Bin Laden in 2001. Last fall, that battle was recounted by a member of the unit involved on 60 Minutes on CBS, GameSpot's parent company. The video is viewable below:

This is a place I learned about and subsequelty learnd about how to spend money I don't have. They know quality audio. Quality generally comes at a price, hence their motto: "Sorry about your wallet." They have sections for just about any type of audio you can imagine. Computer Source, Headphones, Speakers, you name it. I highly suggest them to anyone that is wanting to get more out of their current setup or looking to upgrade their current setup.

Games & Programming / Re: Need for Speed Shift
« on: Friday, December 04, 2009, 21:07:27 PM »
Most Wanted was pretty good but have you tried Shift? The features and graphics alone make it miles better. I play with a PS2 controller. I played Carbon with a flight yoke and pedals but it just was more difficult to setup and manage than a smaller controller. I probably wouldn't play racing games if I didn't have a controller. Keyboard buttons are on/off, controllers you can have levels and only turn the wheels partway or accelerate slow or brake slow.

I've been following the NFS franchise ever since I bought Carbon, although I have played older ones as well. NFS Shift is the current version and I can say without a doubt it is the best one. Pro Street was supposed to be the next best thing but along with others, I just disliked it. It just didn't seem fun. Undercover was the next one after Pro Street and although better (and set in a free roam world) the graphics were just lacking for a game of it's time. Shift is another story, the graphics are superb, they really went overboard with the textures. The features really make you feel like you're the one driving. I have my camera set inside the car to be more First Person and when you accelerate, shift, brake, turn or hit something the camera moves exactly like you would expect it to due to momentum. To accentuate this, the HUD also moves. I believe that the NFS line is treated by EA somewhat like Activision and Call of Duty where there's 2 different sub company's that alternate making a release. I see no problem with this however it seems that there's 2 different driving styles now. Pro Street and Shift are more about actual professional races whereas Undercover and Carbon are kind of free roam run from the cops. If you like racing, I highly recommend this game. The only downside that I have with it is that EA went cheap and only licensed the code for PhysX to be used on the CPU so this game EATS CPU clocks. It easily maxes out my Dual Core 3.2GHz.

These two are on a straight-away, they are excellent shows of the effects. The first shows the blurring of the dash at high speed to simulate focusing on the road. The second (compared to the first) shows the camera closer to the dash as I'm braking for the turn. The text and screenshots cannot emphasize the awesomeness of the features.

But then again, every version of XP I test is modded heavily.

I'm slowly gaining the will-power to post about that. When I do, I'm sure you'll add stuff since I learned from you :)

I like the 2nd one even better. Keep it up.

On a somewhat related note, I was going to get a image resizer mod for this forum but apparently those coders @ simple machines made it so text lines break with window size, not with page width.
