News / Re: Assist v8 Update is Live!

The new graphic layout is great and well designed all around, the chat is a nice addition and the poll system was really needed. The whole amount of detail and good rendition is impressive. There are a few bugs or glitches but given that those maps are not small by any means so it's fine it think. I find Airfield to be a bit odd as a whole, i wonder who originally made it on the AA3 team.

Those Mexicans are always sending us contaminated stuff. First lead in the candy and now radiation in our kitchen goods.

Well back in 1979 you were messing things up good enough by your own http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Mile_Island_accident

I think the point is still about the potential harm vs the chance of an accident to happen, which by itself means nothing, but it starts meaning something when you think how just a single accident can harm a lot of people and make several places uninhabitable for several years, and in turn contaminate and render radioactive other materials too (even with some "common" radioactive materials). Here you can find a list of the known civil accidents involving radioactive material of a common type (mostly the one used in radio therapy equipment). In several of these accidents (let's say mostly before 90's) people didn't even consider radioactivity as a danger or a possible cause of their illness cause both of a lack of knowledge or either understating the effects.

December 6, 1983 – Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. A local resident salvaged materials from a discarded radiation therapy machine containing 6,000 pellets of cobalt-60. The transport of the material led to severe contamination of his truck. When the truck was scrapped, it in turn contaminated another 5,000 metric tonnes of steel to an estimated 300 Ci (11 TBq) of activity. This steel was used to manufacture kitchen and restaurant table legs and rebar, some of which was shipped to the U.S. and Canada. The incident was discovered months later when a truck delivered contaminated building materials to the Los Alamos National Laboratory drove through a radiation monitoring station. Contamination was later measured on roads used to transport the original damaged radiation source. Some pellets were actually found embedded in the roadway. In the state of Sinaloa, 109 houses were condemned due to use of contaminated building material. This incident prompted the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Customs Service to install radiation detection equipment at all major border crossings.[20]

More people would have died, American and Japanese, if we were to do an invasion of Japan. The Atom bomb saved lives. It was war.KiLLaMaN

The only good dead are the virtual ones... so join a server and start killing.ELiZ

War is awful so is the misuse of nuclear power, people died in many unbelievable ways for reasons related to use or possession of radioactive materials already.

That's the point, people want stats to be tracked because you get points and fun, do you think people join non tracked servers? everybody wants a tracking server or that would just waste life of nothing.

There are plenty of games where "modded server" aren't tracked. People just don't complain as much as here. Stats aren't the fun itself.

To me, you are a regular snob...  :poorguy:
Intelligent people can adapt to every conversation (without forcing anyone to align to their level...).

... or just maybe, yet another kid with too big ambitions to their capabilities ...

Assumptions...anyway, even if he's using some uncommon words he's doing a better job at expressing himself than most of the people here (it's obvious he's taking more time to do that, most of the people just don't care about). If people complain about posts length it must be cause they're used to phone text messages or one~two liners replies.

I'm sure, others will appreciate your effort, but I wil go further and reduce your divagations to one word: Self-control. You see, the problem is that only few people here understand what this mean - therefore should be taken certain steps in this direction.

Thinking before writing. It all goes down to that, to me. That implies taking time, i think only a bunch of the people that usually post on these forums take some time to actually write a decently thought opinion/post. Self control comes as a result, if you think before acting/writing you don't usually do or write stupid, hateful or annoying things.

'Sorry' - didn't know, that further explanations are necessary...
:poorguy: Yeah, sure... What else..? People here are deaf to the arguments.
'need to want' ..? What is this? Anarchist theory..? Look around you, everything is based on the rules. This is a basic feature of society based on law. If you can't understand that, then I can't help you - nobody can...

I'm not a talkative person myself, i often find the amount of useless hate between players and/or forum users really annoying for both the hate itself and energy/time wasted, and the lack of anything interesting to read that most of the time that behavior makes for. That said, rules can't help a person to behave better, a good time away of the forums do help in some ways (and before you think i am the nazi, i've been permanently banned from a community long time ago...)
