Assist Support / Re: account activation
« on: Sunday, April 06, 2014, 22:19:06 PM »
Unfortunately we do not have access to the Battletracker account system. That means we cannot help you recover your account. However, your new account is now activated. If you want I can give you back your honor, but you'll still have to do all of the training again.

there are a lot of aspects in this matter, otherwise we wouldnt discuss it again. only ur straight forward question wont help ppl to make a fair vote. i think a bit more information should be provided
Like what? The topic is simple. Do they want to keep the new uniforms that were put in the game or not What other aspects do they need? Do you just want to try to convince them to not like the uniforms?
They're playing the game with the uniforms, they know everything there is to know about how they work right now (sometimes disappearing and stuff) what more do they need to know?

Background Checks / Re: Natsuki 2
« on: Sunday, April 06, 2014, 14:49:15 PM »
Could be, but keep digging :D

There's is not suddenly a player that comes back after a few years, the day after the other one is banned.
Same flag same name.
I definitely believe it's him. Same name, the IP is from the same city too. However I don't think we can ban based on that alone.

While the past playername matches, I cannot find any link to the previously banned user.

i dont think people realize, whats about in the poll.
its like asking: hey guys, do u want something new instead of old? of course...
How can people not realize what the poll is about? The poll is extremely straight forward. Do you think we should keep the new uniforms or not? That's about as straight forward as you can get.

Try throwing a disc in your disk drive, blank or not, and see if it goes away.

I'd hate to disagree with you here, but I do.

To my knowledge, it's always been one account per computer, simply because there is no way for us to verify how many people are involved.

The reason I rejected his account was that he had been using the computer he requested the activation from time and time again for his main account.

To be honest, I usually approve such accounts if people are here saying they need it for their son or w/e and they have only one account for two computers (which can be seen from the logs obviously). But I just don't see the point here. It's just my opinion and is why I didn't want to reply anymore.
Normally I would accept those too, as well as people saying they want an account for their siblings or friend or family. That is still one account per person. This guy clearly admits that both accounts would be his, so that's not going to be accepted.

oh ok killaman, i always play on my pc not laptop but i made this account for my friend because he doesnt know how to make one and clearly hisname is "yzn" so can you active it please there is nothing against the rules..
Too late to try that one. You already admitted that both accounts were yours by saying "my other account."

I'm disappointed in you Ticus. At least know what you're talking about before you make a ridiculous thread like this. Jake got a temporary ban for attempting to use AHK. Key word here is ATTEMPTING. He never got to use it. There is no "doing the same thing" as he never actually used anything.

Frankly this thread is embarrassing to the community.
If you want to request a background check, do it in a mature manner, not this crap.  :lock:

Ban Appeals / Re: Banned for using autohotkey
« on: Saturday, April 05, 2014, 22:27:18 PM »
So its still 1 week ban, even though you said it was an accident? Can you explain why the 1 week ban is minimum requirement?

..RIP my weekend.
Any attempt at using AHK is an automatic one week ban. We have no way of knowing your intentions when you get caught with the program running. People were asking why it was only a one week ban even though you got caught twice. I believe the second time was an accident as there's no logical reason for you to try it again, thus not requiring any extra punishment.

not to be so cocky but when did this change??? so what your basically saying there has been a cvar made to prevent players from using ahk while playing aa??

i'm a bit lost here
Not too long ago. It was already discussed in a previous ahk ban appeal thread.

why no one answering?
just active my account please..
im allowed to have account per pc..
That's not how it works. It's one account per person. Why not just use your one account on both PCs?

Ban Appeals / Re: Banned for using autohotkey
« on: Saturday, April 05, 2014, 14:04:58 PM »
The minimum requirement is a temporary 1 week ban. While it is true that he got caught with it open twice, no action was taken in between those times and there would be no reason for him to try it again anyways, so it does indeed look like a mistake. If  the kicks were back to back I'd say differently (as it would show he tried to load it back up and try again), but done in a 4 day span, looks like an accident to me.

However, this is a warning. Next time it happens it'll be upgraded to 1 month and then after that, permanent.

General Chat / Re: Will these ever be added?

I'm talking about things from 2.8.5 that were there right before it was shut down like certain training missions like the Eagle tower obstacle course, vehicle training, AT4 and the bunker busting version of it, Javelin training, ES2 objects even though they have no purpose. Also certain missions like ES2 Border, and the one SF map including the use of Hummvees I can't recall the name though. Also is it possible to make the ingame server browser working again? I honestly would love to see this game grow back to that point it was when we were left oh so suddenly by the creators.
The answer to pretty much everything is a no.

Co-op maps are not currently possible in AA 2.5 as it doesn't possess the same AI capabilities as 2.8.5.
Also, we cannot add new weapons as we do not have access to the source code. Anything that can be done has to be done through mods that run on top of the game.

I don't think it is possible to get the in-game server browser to work due to how the authorization is set-up. It has to be run through the Assist client. I could be wrong though. Wait for Eliz to comment on this one.
Not sure why it's a big deal to have to close the game out to join a new server.

Other training maps could be possible (as long as they don't require weapons or vehicles which are not in 2.5) but not likely.

Background Checks / Re: who is he.
« on: Saturday, April 05, 2014, 02:58:41 AM »
It looks as if he does to me.
Or is there something I'm missing with the simultaneous IP and UUID match?

From what I can see, since the last time this guy logged in (plus numerous times before), these 2 have logged in on the same UUID and IP:
http://battletracker.com/playerstats/aao/815228/
http://battletracker.com/playerstats/aao/815810/
You're kinda right. That was just my lackluster quick searching, sorry. :P
It looks like 815228 is definitely his account (name and all matches).

However, I don't believe that 815810 is his account. I see no link between 840728 and 815810, but given that 815228 is the same user, it looks like he just might have logged on to his friend's PC once, as I only see one time (4/4/2014) where he uses the same HWID and IP.
That is unless I'm looking at this wrong again. :P

Doesn't Battletracker use Gamespy to pull all of the stats? As much as you'd think that stats aren't that big of a deal you'd be surprised at how much some people care about them.
Eliz did make his own tracker a bit ago (although I'm not exactly sure how ready it is), but our account system still runs off of battletracker so there would have to be a work around to upload those stats to battletracker (mainly to get honor to update) instead of the gamespy ones. However, like bendawich said, I doubt Homey would do anything about it as he's been MIA for a while, although he already helped before when Assist was first created. It might be worth a shot.

This could be bad news.
