It shouldn't. FRAPS updates like 1000 times a second so you can see where FPS is exactly and there's no set points like 60, 30, 20, 15 and so fourth. I do use triple buffering (default on newer Nvidia cards) but even still, 55FPS is, to me, the same as 60. I think the majority of the problems in the level is the abundant amount of poorly-coded AI features (as well as being offline, you should know by now that things in AA 2.x replicate differently offline than they do online). In my Pipeline, I have the same problem, it doesn't max anything out, the engine just can't do it. I do blame some of this on the devs because... they coded the AI (not their first time doing this) and made the map.

I guess the moral is; some games are ported, some games are rushed. Either way, faster and newer hardware won't overcome the issues.

Always. There's no reason why it shouldn't cap at 60 though.

Who likes it? What's your favorite part?

Mine is the introduction that Pierce does on the pilot. I love how he just completely fowls up everybody's name :)
I was watching it last night and I spotted something odd:

The interesting thing is, when Michael on The Office drew a dick and boobs, it was blurred out, why wasn't this? I mean, it's crude but... still.

I think UE3 is the first version to take advantage of multi-core CPU's.

So Vikraal messaged me earlier today asking if I knew the FPS I got in Snakeplain. Not having played it for many many months and curious myself, I extracted 2.8.5 (I keep several versions in fresh-install-compressed state) and checked it out. After having to manually edit resolution just to get it to start, I got into the settings and set everything on the highest value. I then loaded Snakeplain and messed around for a bit and was happy with the results, at least until I got towards the main building area. I saw something shocking; 42FPS in some areas. I thought: "this can't be right". So I closed the game and re-loaded it but this time with GPU-Z and Task Manager going in the background so I could check various core usage. I was shocked again; 34FPS.

Just to prove it:

Is the game that poorly done that it doesn't use 100% of any CPU core or more than half of my GPU but still drops frames? I think so.

Just thought I would say that installing everything to get to 10.42, the program files install folder is 39.5GB :)

*EDIT*
Make that 39.6GB

Um, what? I'd lol if that was true but that's ALL mine.

Go take a long walk off a short pier.

Well, it's not like she follows you everywhere, she's just in bits of the game, just enough n00dz to tease. Also, Killa, there's stuff on the FakeFactory forum about running the full version on 32-bit systems... maybe check it out?

Thought I would update with some new infos. Version 10.40 is released with some awesome features like dynamic lighting:

I also found a huge render image of what Alyx looks like in-game. This is n00dz:
