Feedback & Suggestions / Re: Spawn points Monkey Island
« on: Sunday, April 27, 2014, 14:38:43 PM »
An interesting idea. Random spawns would definitely be doable and cool on Monkey Island, as well as other fixes. It would be a bit like Ranch, one team spawns in the middle and the other team has multiple places to spawn. I like that idea.  I'll look into this tonight.

I'm going to address the only part of your post worth addressing.
Quote
am sad to say this but our loved ''admins'' relay more on anti cheat tool than on community voice. I don't know why community is ignored by admins.
We don't ignore the community. Why would we have so many polls asking for their opinion if we ignored them?
Yes, our anti-cheat isn't perfect, but it's a hell of a lot more perfect than a human saying someone hacks because "I just know it." We don't ban without proof, that's a very dangerous path to go down and we won't.

to my mind dev-team is so uninspired. small things could change a lot and take players out of their comfortzone. not even a little innovation was risked. instead new maps, new assist, new homepage...nothing substantial. sry to say that.
This post annoys me for two reasons.
First, our staff is completely voluntary. What is done is what Eliz can get done or wants to do. You're not paying for the game, expecting him to do a bunch of stuff not knowing his situation is ridiculous. You also have to understand that there is a limit to what we can change. We do not have access to the source code, so pretty much everything done has to be a mod over top of the game.
Second, where are your small game changing suggestions? We try to listen to the community as best we can, but you can't complain about something you want done not being done when you never suggested it in the first place.

I for one am disabled atm so that real life is pretty small most of the time.  Have some humility in the face of a crowd of people who badly want to, and you badly need them to, play the game. Wouldn't a successful community like we used to have overwhelm all the complaints and thanks anyhow? How about offering us a way to help besides just donating? I know a little about coding, what do you need?
This isn't a situation of needing help from the community or anything, although someone else who could code would be a huge benefit. Eliz is currently the only one coding for the game.
We truly appreciate everyone that plays this game and keeps it alive. All I'm trying to say is WHY we're sometimes slow to relay info and take action and why all the quick criticism is unfair.
We don't get paid to deal with ANY of this. It's all out of our love for the game and people still treat us like they're owed a perfectly flawless and smooth game, which has never happened and never will happen. It's part of the reason the original creator of Assist, JonnyM, left twice. Some people (obviously not everyone) have this weird sense of entitlement to something that is provided to them for free.

Also, I'd like to point out that by saying "real life is more important" wickid was referring to the AAO25 staff having to deal with real life issues as well as AAO25. He wasn't talking about the community at all.

In hindsight, that is kind of an angry smiley, didn't intend that to be the tone of the message.  Thanks for getting us back up.
Ignore that guy, he's a troll (and known caught hacker) and is now banned.
The truth is that when there's unscheduled downtime, most of us know exactly as much as you do. As in, it's not working, and that's it. There's not much we can do.

I'd also like you to please remember that our entire staff is completely voluntary. We don't make any money doing this and we do have lives outside of AAO25. We're not all that fast to react to stuff, but this game is completely free so it's frustrating getting criticized when we do all that we can, even when the situation is out of our control.

It might also be BT related I would guess, since they ran an update a day or few ago, maybe they're doing something on that end again?
BT seems to be down so that might actually be the issue, although I'm still able to play as well as many others.

I've had no problems getting on the 2 times I tried, but I have seen some people today claim the same is happening to them. Obviously a problem with the auth server, and these things happen from time to time. I remember official auth would go down for days at a time back in the day. The only difference is that we don't have people paid to fix these things. I don't have any control over that nor do I know what's wrong, but things should be back to normally eventually. Sorry for any inconvenience.

I would just like to point out that this project is administrated by a completely voluntary staff that do have real lives to deal with. We're not on all the time and we're not the quickest staff, but we try the best we can.

That being said, your account should now be activated. Have fun!

Anti-Cheat / Re: These guys
« on: Saturday, April 19, 2014, 02:53:25 AM »
Well to be honest, I found 2 different sets of IPs that they both used yesterday.

You're right. More bad researching by me.
Pretty much every IP Rage.as has used, Mickey has used as well.

Not really proof of ghosting but it looks like they both live in the same house or one is over at the other's house a lot. A bunch of overlapping IPs.

They do not have the same IP or the same HWID. IPs are from the same area though.

Is double honor even possible? Right now BT handles all of the points and honor and we have no way of changing it as far as I know. Unless a mod could be made and forced on all servers? Other than that about the only thing we could do is edit the maps to make the obj give double points but that would be a very large download for everyone each week so no viable.

I'm not trying to be 'that guy' now, but to keep this game as open as possible to all new players of all ages, the picture in the opening post might be a little eh.
Hope you all with have good days though, with good food.
Yeah I'm not sure. It's kinda against the rules, and kinda not at the same time. I don't know. Just to be safe.
