I cleaned up my hard drives about a week ago and deleted nearly one hundred gb's of stuff so I only have 206,344 files across two hard drives with a total capacity of one tb.

Call me a noob if you wish, but I would rather err on the side of caution. Plus it was dirt cheap and is high quality.

Np, that cpu was from an OEM hp that had never been worked on, Celeron D. You are probably right about the wax, I don't think AS5 drys up like that. I do know it cures, but I have never heard of it "gluing" a cpu like that. I use AS ceramique and have never had a problem with it. Has similar thermal property's as AS5 but is non-conductive. It cures and can be a bit of a problem to get the heatsink off if you use to much. And I got 3, 22cc tubes for 15 bucks at Fries.

Well I will let the photos speak for them selves.

That possessor was glued to the heatsink, with some alcohol and very slight prying from a butter knife, I was able to get it unstuck. Let this be a warning to you. Don't buy the cheap crap and reapply once and a while!

Hardware/Software / My "noise canceling" Head phones
« on: Tuesday, March 30, 2010, 03:32:13 AM »
A few years ago (6 or 7) I was weed eating and wanting to listen to music to help pass the time. So I found a broken pair of headphones and put them in my ear muffs. And thus noise canceling headphones ^_^

Media & Art / [Movie Review] Repo Men

I never know what to put for an intro to my reviews so I'll get right to the point.

Director:Miguel Sapochnik

Staring:
Jude Law(Lead Man)
Alice Braga(Lead Woman)
Forest Whitaker(Supporting)
Liev Schreiber(Supporting)

Runtime:111 min
Aspect Ratio:2.35 : 1

I personally cannot stand it when movies have bad ass trailers and end up being shit. So I was surprised when the trailers for this movie where, vague at best. You don't really get a sense of the movie from the trailers. Which peaked my interest in this flick.

Taking place in a future where the US government has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. A corporation has risen that gives life where none could have been. They manufacture and sell (at ridiculous prices with staggering interest rates) human body parts. Need a heart? No problem four hundred grand and its yours. You slip and break a hip? Three hundred and you are walking again.

But what happens when you can't pay.

That's the plot of Repo Men. This movie is fast paced with very little down time. Some like that others don't, I personally liked the pace of this movie.

The camera work was average for the most part, in a few parts the camera moves to follow an actor or vehicle and there is some thing in the way that's distracting.
The visual effects are above average but not stunning. If you have seen I Am Legend, they are similar (in respect to scenery). The props for the body parts are believable for the most part. In a few scenes they look a little like plastic.

The acting is very good this isn't a B-Rated film in the least. The story is solid. This movie is at times darkly funny and is a scary look into what could be. Jude Law and Forest Whitaker are great in this movie. This movie is not for the faint of heart, its bloody and squeamish my not apply. The make-up artistry is Extremely good. That is the good. Now the bad.

It was, for all the blood and guts, ok. The twist at the end is surprising but not unforeseeable. And the ending just plain blows. The story feels rushed and the character development is lacking.

This movie is not for children or adults who don't like blood. It made me cringe at times and I watched a real human autopsy while eating pizza.

Bloody and interesting Repo men is worth watching if you like Sci-Fi movies. The prospect of a corporation rising to such power is a frighting prospect, but the movie failed to inspire much awe in me.

I liked it over all, face paced and very bloody, full of action its worth a rent once it comes out on dvd but going to theaters was a mistake.
