News / Re: [Video Tutorial] How to nade on Urban Assault
« on: Wednesday, August 06, 2014, 11:16:14 AM »
Good video; informative and instructive in all senses.

In regards to the on-going argument; I'd like to think that what these type of videos do is open up new player's mentality to the complexity and learning curve AA offers. Not all new players figure this game can be as strategic and as complex as it is, resulting on a tendency to average their game style to the simplest/fastest possible.

Videos like the one Ganja said remind us all that there are several styles of gameplay one can choose from...or die from. The sole fact that new players have access to information like this will make them weary of unseen nades, less prone to camp at one spot and ultimately that'll make their gameplay adapt and grow into being more complex and complete.

Just my 2 cents.

TL;DR stands for "Too Long; Didn't Read".

Army, this may be the right time to reconsider your actions and the person you've become. Every now and then, life throws one of these situations at us to help us solidy our personality and shape it into a even better one.

Good luck in life,
Dan

I wouldn't say a one-time occurrence deserves a ban.

The degree of stupidity this thread is clinging to is just....astonishing, I must say.

First the ever-so-light hacking/cheating accusations, then the classy dumb-justification-act following with a not so surprisingly unexpected turn of taste towards ghosting with a hint of player hierarchy --YES, the ever lasting debate between competitive & pubs. Could that be the end of it?! No !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <- (emphasise on the exclamation mark, if you hadn't notice)

Out of the blue comes out another accusation (for further reference, one thread per accusation please), this time around on Ganja. Then again to the whole conceptualisation of what makes a competitive player and what doesn't and to wrap it all up, we are to conclude that all of these idiotic and badly expanded topics all come together to solidly affirm, and I quote:

I go to Euro servers and Ghosting is a big factor there . We should have a big ass 1 v 1 tournament for pure bragging rights

Not even sure what to make of it all.

I'll leave it as is. Thread locked.

Possessed, please refrain from direct insulting.

There is no need for it.

While I agree that this thread is rather humorous, I'd like for respect to be kept above all :)

Bug Reports / Re: Post all your problems towards new update

I think Spanky re-named the map files at some point?

It might be conflicting with Battletracker. Not sure.

Maybe Spanky/ELiZ will be able to handle this.

Same issue here.

Beta worked/opened fine, though.

I'm running on OS X Mavericks (10.9).

Corrupter, language.

More of that and I'll issue a warning.

« on: Wednesday, January 01, 2014, 21:46:03 PM »
ok makes sense..    im not sure if im thinking of the problem correctly, but it says the T-SAI is not allowed to be downloaded, can the new assist with the update bypass that and download a new version that is uncorrupted?

Yep, yes it can.

Tomorrow all will magically be fixed and you'll soon be a happy America's Army player!

Also @Mikawe, I appreciate you vouching for my credibility, but we all know a good reputation doesn't give 100% certainty either. I think someone like Pit proved that.

Nothing gives 100% certainty in this world. I'd rather trust my gut on this even when the chances are barely 50%.

SASF-DarkShooter has more credibility than you do, No-Nonsense.

Not only that, he has shown that it is in his self interest to help the community out, not degrade it.

You, on the other hand, seem rather clinched towards believing you're Bruce Almighty.

This game and community do not need heroes like yourself. Not even a Robin Hood.

Mikawe, I would like to edit stock maps and improve them visually as well as fix bugs and add things players would like to see. The problem is, the shitstorm of complaints that come up with even editing minor things isn't worth it. Remember what happened when I added railing and slightly changed the layout of the roof on Hospital? Just a minor place in the map that, on some rounds, isn't even used. The people went apeshit.

People bitch, period. Especially the ones that play America's Army. What do we make out of that? I'd take constructive feedback like the one atx_mza, utRoda and other competitive players have been giving over the usual moaning and bitching the rest of the users may provide.

I understand how this can be a two-edged sword. On one hand come the worries that we'll loose players if we mess with maps while on the other hand comes to long-term realisation that if we let AA sit as was/is, we'll definitely be walking towards a dead end. I'd rather bring the new twist sooner than later, attempting to gather newcoming interest, momentum and the likes from the competitive scene.

My perspective has always been the same. Take AA and create something new with it. Being a standoff for the good old times simply won't cut it anymore --or even if it does, its death will remain at the mercy of time.
