I think if you go to armyops.ini and find [Engine.LevelInfo] put DecalStayScale=100. It should look like this:

Vsync is only worth it if triple buffering is enabled. Otherwise it's better to play with Vsync off.

However tbh, with the settings menu coming back, it's not worth turning Vsync on by default.

lol, I have a bias towards Nvidia. I like them more for the dumbest reason: I understand the way they name their graphics cards much more than ATI. I always have to google when people talk about ATI cards.

Because AA doesn't efficiently use CPU power. AI + vehicles take a lot of CPU power. And don't come here comparing it to some other game with thousands of AI and vehicles. I will laugh at you.

It's happening a lot, it happend to me and my friend, and I have seen ppl kicked by it. Can it be because of the files you modified because of the new 25assist tracking system?

All the files in our 2.5Assist system is perfectly contained. Everything is checked and accounted for including telling PB to stfu from time to time.

Although there can be some instances when PB falls arse over tit, that's when we need people to report to us fully what was happening so we can fix it.

If you shoot a door and it becomes all black, it means the game engine renders decals (aka projectors) in a way that the graphics card doesn't like. A lot of times, the way a game engine does stuff, graphics cards don't all interpret it the same way. Unreal Engine usually works very well on Nvidia cards. Thats just the way it is.

But those are old problems and should all be fixed by now with driver updates.

Now back to the topic of Vsync........if a user has an actual graphics card and has drivers installed from their manufacturer, then vsync is never a problem. Never ever a problem.

The shadows poking thru walls bug is really a map design flaw 90% of the time. It's because the walls are too thin and so when player shadows are projected, a lot of times they go thru the wall to the other side. Sometimes this is un-avoidable, but most of the time the solution is to just make thicker walls haha.

I know that bridge night map. Back in the day Spanky and I played on it before. I remember one side had a very long extension of terrain where you could hide in the darkness and snipe people from far away.

Guily, the only reason I was asking like that is because I know the history and there's no need for you to be secretive about the information here :)


Oh and Spanky, those 2.8 maps, are those converted from 2.5 or are those versions of the maps someone made with 2.8 editor?

Yeah, well but we at smirl managed to get the oficial compiler from devs, and it wasen't simply hacked to get it...

Devs gave us it (too bad it was for AA2.6, where we tested for the first time bridge at night that someone out there made, even before release to public) :)

So I do believe you guys could talk with them so that they can give you their oficial compiler...


And yeah injecting C++ isn't any good in performance, all I can remember is.... CRASH....CRASH...CRASH.

I could only work good with Uscript on AA (but i'm not a coder, just compiled a few scripts in UC for AA2.6).

The chances of the ACTUAL devs giving you an 'official compiler' is like 0%. I think there is some 'I am better than you' going on in your post. But don't mind me, I'm just trying to interpret a post that has a lot of things going on.

Although, would you mind explaining to me what is included in this 'official compiler' if you don't mind? I'm curious.
