Paper beats rock, rock beats scissors, and scissors beats paper, but Chuck Norris beats all 3 at the same time.

I agree with everything you said Skrewy, except for:

but they cant arrest u without telling u the charge which is what happened here, they only had a case AFTER they arrested him

He was becoming more and more loud and hostile. Sometimes you need to arrest (stop him and calm him down) in order to talk to someone. He was just defiant, asking rhetorical questions, contributing nothing, and resisting authority. He did nothing right nor worthwhile IMO.

More than likely very old news but it's the first I've heard of it. Knight sent me a video of it and we had a discussion about it.

Video:

Knight's and my conversation/discussion about it:
Quote
[22:59] Spanky: while i admire him for sitting through 2 hours of a kerry speach, i think that's rather pointless. free speach is fine at the right place. he doesnt belong there and starts resisting the officers. got what he deserved imo
[23:00] Spanky: some people were clapping, maybe they were clapping for the officers but most couldnt care less and thought this guy was a toon. his whole point went nowhere and his time was wasted
[23:01] knight_203: But the thing is, he had not even been up there for a minute before they started yanking him down. If they had let him finish none of that would have been in the news at all. Now if he had started to go on running over his time and didn't get off when he was asked to I could understand that.
[23:02] Spanky: what did he expect? a real honest heartfelt answer that would actually mean something? he went there knowing he was going to disturb and stir things up
[23:03] knight_203: the point is he is aloud BY LAW to ask what ever questions he wants. He could have gone up there and asked kerry if he shits gold keyboards and he should have never been arested for it
[23:05] Spanky: he was disturbing the point of the whole thing. they arrested him to stop him. if they didn't would that have made a difference? would kerry or anybody else think differently? it's just pointless
[23:06] knight_203: pointless BUT HIS RIGHT
[23:06] Spanky: he was resisting the police the whole time, so they used more force to apprehend him
[23:06] knight_203: i agree
[23:06] knight_203: with the fact that he was resisting but they never should have pulled him down in the first place
[23:06] Spanky: but would he have stopped? would he have just kept going until kerry left and nobody else got to ask questions?
[23:07] Spanky: is that fair, is that right
[23:07] Spanky: it's not black and white. yea he has a freedom of speech but...
[23:07] knight_203: he should have been given the chance, if after the 2 questions he wanted to ask where up he started asking MORE then I would say yeah get him down
[23:08] Spanky: it was hard to hear the people that talked with him first, it was almost like someone said "ask your question"
[23:09] Spanky: after that he almost becomes hostile and sarcastic
[23:09] Spanky: the person lets him go
[23:10] Spanky: then he asks rhetorical questions and doesnt give time for him to answer
[23:11] knight_203: I agree he was very hostile in his question asking but they should have handled the sitiuation better. regardless of our differing opinions that video gave us one of the best lines in internet history
[23:11] Spanky: which is?
[23:11] knight_203: Dont taste me bro

What are your thoughts?

I got my Teralink X2 today :) It hasn't blown me away but I wasn't expecting it to. It's better than my X-Fi and doesn't have any annoying features. I'll probably enjoy it more as the caps burn-in and whatnot. Off to pull the ol' X-Fi from my computer :P

Games & Programming / Re: Battlefield 3 goes Multiplatform
« on: Friday, July 30, 2010, 21:28:32 PM »
I agree. But see the problem is and most people don't realize this is that we're in the transition from using multiple engines to make a game cross-platform. In that transition, things have to be worked on, it can't be perfect for every platform. The game is built then special things are done for each console. I doubt both the PS3 and Xbox360 versions are exact copies of each other. They just need to spend some more time on the PC side and they will when people complain. Consoles render games and have vastly different hardware than computers do and it's just going to take time to make all the hardware happy :)

Wow, that's totally different gameplay. I'm rather impressed. It IS like Bejeweled meets Tetris. I bet the maker of Tetris is really proud :)

And no..  I'm still not agreeing with you Spanky.  High school is not only to "teach" you things for later on in life (like a job) it's more to teach you how to have a social life.  But I guess you wouldn't understand what a social life is..  Sorry, I guess I brought this up on the wrong forum.

Ouch. Wait, no, I remember going through High School. Yea, here's my diploma. Hmmm, I guess experience means nothing. I, too, am done with this thread. There's just some people you can't change or talk sense into.

It's really discussions like these that make me sit on Delta's side on the language chat.

They don't group kids in huge numbers to be social they do it to save money and it fails. I've nothing more to say in this thread as I usually avoid people with cotton's attitude.

Well as you all know I generally have to say something funny in every thread or something mean. So here it is:

As of now most companies throw away most applications that do not have a college degree.

college may be pointless learning wise, but most decent paying jobs require a college degree of some sort. So it technically isn't pointless.

4 years and that much money just to get a job that has requirements that won't bend. In a lot of situations, willingness to work and knowledge above what they're asking can trump "requirements".

School's school isn't to teach you to be social (except for the rare teamwork and buddy bullshit), it's purpose (and partially college's purpose) is to give you general knowledge about several things to see what you might be interested in. It shows you the world because you can't look at a 5 year old kid and say what he's going to be when he grows up. It's good to pay attention to expand your knowledge and broaden yourself. Knowledge is great if done right but a lot of schools and colleges fail at it. High School education is good as long as you pay attention, if you do, you don't need college IMO. In fields that change a lot (take Information Technology or computers for example) how can college teach you stuff about the next generation of technology? There's a lot of subjects where it doesn't matter if you've been to college, there's 3rd party credentials that employers often look for.

Simply:
Everything up to High School = general knowledge.
College = pointless.

Any updates on Pipeline convertion?

There's a screenshot in this thread. All I did was copy everything and paste it in then save it and closed the editor. I haven't done anything since mostly for 2 reasons: lack of motivation and my back has been hurting lately and it's a bit hard to focus because of that.

The Beyerdynamic headphones have a unique mounting design that allows a really nice secure mounting point. Good luck making one for the Sennheiser's.
