Never had a problem? Must be lucky. VLC sucks. It's an ok solution for those that want an easy solution but there's better choices.

I do but to play multiplayer on Punkbuster servers, you kinda need to pay for the game... I rarely play the full version, AIX has kind of gotten boring and it's taking up so many GB.

It can smooth up most all videos, it's just most efficient when you're playing a video that has a FPS that can be divided into your monitors refresh rate evenly.

Oh come on guys, this is really cool. I know theres a few people that play videos on their PC. It's even great for Bluray and DVD.
