Hardware/Software / Re: TubeMagic A1 Modding
« on: Friday, October 15, 2010, 22:04:36 PM »
I started:

Teaser:

I will have a tutorial with pictures written up when I fully finish the mods

*EDIT*
Just went for the final mod (source knob is a on/off switch for speakers) and a screw connected with a partially charged capacitor and I got to see a lovely orange spark. I'm scared shitless since I let go of the screw about half a second before it did that and I know there's 200v caps in there. I'm going to let the unit set for a while, maybe overnight. Hopefully it didn't damage anything. It's a pretty simple circuit so I doubt it did. If my A1 is fubar, you got to see it's final moments in that video ^^ :P

Media & Art / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Sweater
« on: Friday, October 15, 2010, 00:25:17 AM »
For those that follow my Twitter, you know that I've been scanning old photo's for digital archiving lately. I've come across quite a few cool pictures but I thought I would share this one. Back in '92 I sported this sweater everywhere. See how gangster I looked at Christmas:

Now, keep in mind that this photo was probably shot on a low-end film camera with general Kodak color film. It was then developed probably in 1993, stored since then, and scanned at 600DPI on my middle-end all in one machine. Then I ran it through Photoshop and set the Color, Contrast and Tone to auto and this is how it came out.

IMO, doesn't matter really. There's plenty other things to worry about. If they did, I'm sure theres plenty other things to replace it. How many millions of dollars did this take...

I sold my 360 on craigslist and I easily agree with Spanky. Over half of the people that emailed me about the 360 never responded back after I emailed them. I guess it goes both ways.

YEA!!!! So many times people just quit talking to you instead of saying "sorry, I'm no longer interested".

Vik, it's awesome that you're getting in on these discussions a bit :) Nice to see you took the time to read and have an opinion.

Skrewy, fuck the miners. It's just like the military (maybe another discussion?) where they go out there knowing what can happen and then bitch and moan when something does happen.

mans, while I disagree, I must admit that I didn't read most of it either.

A note I've written up after being pissed off and ignored several times. I'm posting this here because for some reason I have to activate my Craigslist account via phone which I can't do since... eh fuck i'm not gonna go into it. Here it is:

Quote
This listing has nothing for sale. It does, however, have some advice all for free.

Now, I subscribe to several Craigslist sections via RSS so I can get a pretty good jump on items but, only if the seller/person giving away the item can cooperate. I guess I'll start off by stating the obvious:

1. This is a online website. Being an online website, it requires a form of computer to view/visit/post on.
2. This particular website requires an e-mail to post with so people can contact you and you can edit your listing.

Ok, just so we're clear, you need both a computer and working e-mail address to view and post on this site.

So, my question is, why is it that a very low percentage (I'd guess 30-40% at best) actually reply to an e-mail sent through the posting? I see 2 reasons:

1. My e-mail went into your spam folder. Not a valid excuse as you should be checking your spam folder since automatic filters aren't ever 100% accurate.
2. You ignored it. This is flat out uncalled for and lazy. Some of you even have the balls to remove your listing (requiring you to be on the computer, log into Craigslist and remove it) and still ignore the e-mail!

Ok, just so we're clear, you have no valid excuses.

Another thing, the greater percentage of you use Craigslist but demand deals be made over the phone. Sure, you're busy but you had enough time to get on the computer and post the ad. If you included enough information in the ad you wouldn't get stupid questions, just a "can I meet you tomorrow" e-mail. Demanding that deals be made over the phone can get expensive. Not everyone has a cheap landline option and some cell phone plans can get expensive and you just sit and eat the other person's minutes without caring. You're posting to an online website that requires a computer. I wouldn't post an ad in the nickelads and demand that someone contact me via e-mail. It's simple, cater to the medium and audience you're targeting.

Be polite! It's simple. Remove the ad when the item is gone and reply to everyone that contacts you, even if you don't have the item anymore.

If anyone cares to discuss this, feel free to e-mail me in a civilized manner.

Your use of "moar" is alarming considering your anti-Ak4 talk stance.

I said it because my whole post was sarcasm. Trying to use silly acronyms and words to add even more sarcasm, I guess it didn't work.

On a more serious note Killaman, maybe you can loosen up a bit, it seems like your asshole is puckered up tighter than a snare drum.

It would be easier to read and understand your posts if you kept them precise and straight to the point. You often use words, phrases, and sentences that add very little meaning to your overall point. In my opinion, your posts would be much better and easier to read without all of the useless words and phrases.

IOW, be moar American plz.

Killa, if you do not come to defend your argument, yours will eventually collapse and loose viability to stand still, despite the level of nonsense that lies within.

In other words, Dann demands satisfaction and challenges you to a duel!
