General Chat / Re: AA2.5 Assist ReadME
« on: Friday, January 02, 2015, 18:02:57 PM »
If I was as much of an asshole as you're being right now, I'd have you banned so that when you finally get the game installed and running, you couldn't play. You're coming to a forum asking for help but you're being insulting in your first post, what makes you think that will get you anywhere?

The FIND function does work, I've used it many times. It doesn't rely on registry entries, it simply copies the folder structure. There is quite a bit of updates, I would almost bet it doubles the installed size of AA. A lot of files are updated/overwritten so you'll have to download them again. Having a 3G connection will cause you more issues that are beyond our control. It also greatly depends on the SourceForge mirror you're connected to which we also don't have any control over.

When you set Assist up like this:
Set Assist up like this:
X:\games\25Assist (empty folder where AA will be downloaded/installed)
X:\games\25Assist.exe (Assist exe)
X:\games\25Assist Libs (Assist libs folder)
Does it ask you if you want to use that folder, when you open Assist? If so, close Assist and copy your AA2 into this folder:
X:\games\25Assist\armyops

See if that works.

Don't install AA, let Assist install it. If you "FIND" the plain 2.5 AA install in Assist, there will be tons of updates that have to be done, you may as well let Assist download the whole thing.

Set Assist up like this:
X:\games\25Assist (empty folder where AA will be downloaded/installed)
X:\games\25Assist.exe (Assist exe)
X:\games\25Assist Libs (Assist libs folder)

Wel i dont know about others rage or no rage but, for me Assist not found AA installed normally (not copied or saved from old windows installation) with 30 minutes before using Assist. Could not read any registry key, because AA runs fine, and could not tell him where it is located the installed game. Assist manual tells me there is a need next to assist.exe like 25assist folder and there should be the game folder but with not any name just what he accept it which is not told us. SO please come down from programmers heaven and fix the bullshit in your game. I saw more really garbage code-s which could do this and could not do many things. Yep after several runs over the manual still not works.
Can you come down from idiot heaven and fix the bullshit in your post so I can understand what you hope to achieve?

General Chat / Re: Computer Virus Protection

Unplug your computer.

I got bashed on another forum for my thoughts but, what the hell, I'll do it here too :)

I wouldn't, don't and never recommend paying for any protection. Hackers & virus makers can get past it and at that point, you're wasting money. I stick with, and recommend, Microsoft Security Essentials (for constant protection) and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (for cleanup). I don't bother with firewalls aside from the built-in Windows one. I do sit behind a DD-WRT router and while I doubt it's super safe, it's probably better than a pre-setup Walmart router with default information.

Anti-Cheat / Re: pls fix these some BUG?s
« on: Monday, December 29, 2014, 22:27:39 PM »
Can someone make a video of this bug - please ...
It's so hard to reproduce. I think part of it might be netcode because I spent probably an hour trying to do it on a offline map with NPC and summoning and avataring. I've never seen it on Hospital, only on mAAp Pipeline and Urban Assault.

Some of us lazy Americans should get together and start frapsing.

You said bugs as in plural. The roof bug has been described to death, what else you got?

General Chat / Re: Banned from ATAS server
« on: Monday, December 29, 2014, 13:44:57 PM »
What I can agree on is a server for lower skilled players only, that people who are too good are not allowed to join in. However then there's another thing: Where to draw the line? When will somebody be "too good"? Sometimes they can have their good days as well...
And how do you enforce that? The honor check doesn't mean anything as people can claim honor accounts but haven't played in 5 years.

If any of you actually had a clue as to how good the Assist anti-cheat is, you wouldn't be accusing people. Just suck it up and face the fact that there are people that play better.

That said, I would do the same as ATAS. I wouldn't want people that are making the game heavily one-sided, there's no fun for either team then. Having a proper challenge is what's fun.

And what look you talking about? I ain't given her no look!
"You have to grip the actuator firmly but not tightly before you make moves in short strokes."

Anyway, it's been ages since I've done mine. Had to upgrade my computer recently so I re-installed Windows. Not much in this screenshot but here it is nonetheless;

Miscellaneous / Re: Post Your Car!

Yep, I agree Teddy. It's pretty pathetic. More manufacturers need to take more pride in things. In my business, I only use quality parts to do repairs. I tell customers that if I do my job right, I won't see them again. It costs them more money but in the long run they'll be happier and more loyal. Manufacturers need to realize this and stop trying to be competitive and only focusing on pricing. I think our only saving grace in the automotive industry is Elon Musk. He's doing the best he can to prove his product and company and there's no way he'll compete on price so he's going for quality, reliability and customer service.

The thing that I like about newer cars is I can just plug it to a laptop and it shows me right away what's seized.  :) Couldn't be more easy. Older cars need more knowledge in my opinion.
That's the one thing that's disappointing. It would be great to see fuel trim and what the sensors are doing. But, pre-OBD2, the computer systems were very simple. A lot of them, like in mine, can throw codes that make it easier to figure out what's going on and there's not many systems you have to check.

I love the idea of more things being computerized in cars, you can get much more precision and automation but longevity is a concern. I'm utterly blown away that the computer in my 23 year old vehicle still works. I get computer parts in today that are 3 years old and they've failed. I would like to see automakers take more time in building vehicles. Better wiring, more care into connections, using dielectric grease from the factory and simple things like anti-seize on bolts. There's so many things that can be done at the factory easily to make repairs go smoother.

It also helps to play at resolutions larger than what a potato would render. Use your monitor's native resolution (largest it will display) and you'll see things a metric shit ton clearer (I've measured this with calibrated instruments) .

That and throttling and net neutrality and the other shitty ploys they are trying to use to make their customers suffer.
