It's all up on eBay:

Awesome thing is that I have 2 watchers just 20 minutes into the auction :P

Last chance, I'll be listing in about 6 hours. I'll also be selling 2x1GB Corsair DDR2 800MHz XMS RAM.

Hardware/Software / My Computer

I will be selling the core parts of my computer so I can upgrade. This means that the CPU, motherboard and RAM from this system:
http://natescomp.com/about-2/network-computers/
Will be for sale.

I'm expecting about $450 for the whole lot since that seems to be the average auction prices on eBay (I averaged 10 recent listings). It breaks down to:
$207 for the CPU
$146 for the Motherboard
$50 per 4GB kit for the RAM (or $100 for all 8GB)

If you have any interest in these parts, let me know in the next 24 hours or they will be going on eBay.

Hillarious. You were late to open the bar because you overslept from being drunk the night before. :P

My old g5 mac does this as well...

There's gotta be others with this issue as well as disassembly guides. Go for fixing it :)

nice! I wish I had the ability to do stuff like this.

It's pretty simple. All it takes is Google-fu skill, a $5 soldering iron and a credit card to buy replacement capacitors. I saw this monitor go on eBay for about $50 so add another $15 for caps and you paid $75 for a monitor that cost $800 when it was released. There's a LOT of stuff like this on eBay.

Miscellaneous / TechPowerUp forums

So the basics are that I figure I can sell my mobo & CPU & RAM and buy a new system that's got better performance and more upgrade-ability and still have some $$ left over. Wanting to avoid eBay fees, I thought I would see if anyone was interested on the TechPowerUp forums, I posted an interest check there. 3 replies and the last 2 were just strict jerks. No positive mention of the original post, no friendly information, just people complaining. I've had enough with their useless forum so I sent a PM to the last guy (a staff member) that replied to my thread just before it got deleted:

I ragequit that forum.

Since everyone else decided to crap on the rules... here's my pathetic entry for today (almost yesterday)

Wednesday February 9th 2011

1:31AM
Started this log in reference to http://hsc.natescomp.com/index.php?topic=732
Talking to Kody on YIM.
Thinking should I sleep or play BC2 until I'm tired.
Started BC2.

1:59AM
Got done owning up on BC2. Spent 1 round base raping, the 2nd being a 40mm whore.
Checked slickdeals, Headshot, e-mail & eBay before bed.

10:00AM
Alarm clock went off, set it for 11 and passed back out.

11:00AM
Woke up, took Ziggy out and took a leak outside like a real man.

11:10AM
Turned computer on.
While waiting the 10 minutes for my monitor to stop flickering I prepared a pan for macaroni and cheese.

11:24AM
Checked e-mail and other sites. Disappointed to see I only received spam e-mails and no new bids on my eBay stuff.

11:54AM
Finished making macaroni and cheese. Ingredients were spilled everywhere. Sitting down to a cup of coffee.

11:55AM
Sad to see that Tigerdirect has a barebones quad-core computer for $200.

11:56AM
Said good morning to the girl I love.

11:59AM
Changed Twitter profile picture to one of Capt. Phil as a small way of remembering.

12:06PM
Printed out bank statements.

12:27PM
Realized I only have $20 in my checking account. Not even enough to pay Rodger back.

12:58PM
Macaroni and cheese is done cooking.
Just realized I have 8 watchers on an eBay item that I listed 20 hours ago. Win.

1:03PM
Watching House and eating breakfast/lunch.

1:51PM
Had discussion/argument with Rodger about consoles vs PC.

2:46PM
Played BC2 for a while.
Time to get up and do something worthwhile.

3:00PM
Cleaned the bathroom a bit.

4:30PM
Spent the last hour and a half trying to tweak my computer, raise memory speed. I failed and reset back to my stable speed.

5:28PM
With Kody's help, I find out that I could sell my existing computer parts, then buy new parts that are faster and still

have money left over.

7:32PM
Spent the last 2 hours pondering a system upgrade. Testing memory usage and looking at different parts.

9:31PM
Spent more time researching parts.
Posted an interest check for my parts on TechPowerUp.

10:09PM
Watching BBC's Cannabis What's the Harm? documentary.

10:14PM
Started playing BC2

11:11PM
Done playing BC2, didn't really have any fun.

11:40PM
Watched an impressive trick shot football video. Twice.

11:42PM
Annoyed as all hell by a moth flying around.
Time to take Ziggy outside and get ready for bed, will probably come back and play BC2 until I'm tired.

I'll join in. Unfortunately I think Friday calms down for me as I went out today and will go out Thursday as well. I might also suggest having people log it themselves then when the week is done, post it.
