Maybe try re-downloading it? Maybe try not moving it to the Applications folder? I have no idea really, I don't own a Mac so it's difficult to know what to suggest :)

Yea, I didn't honestly have much hope for the drive in the beginning. When Windows says you must format in order to use the drive, you don't exactly think happy thoughts. I tried Hirens boot CD and ran through almost every hard disk and recovery program in it. This was one of the last ones I tried and it did work great. Happy customer :)

I just spent time trying to figure out how to access data on a hard drive that Windows wanted formatted before using. I'm thinking that the partition got deleted, the data was still there but the structure or whatever was messed up. With Disk Genius, I was able to see ALL the files and copy them to another hard drive. It's a great program, one of the many on the Hiren Boot CD. I highly recommend it.

I agree that it's highly unlikely but who knows if we're being told the whole truth. Yea, it's great that the explosions were minor and caused by venting & cooling. They're still talking about a meltdown situation and they're saying that the rods are likely melting right now. I'm not a scientist but to me, it seems plausible for radiated particles to be shot up into the upper atmosphere (like Chernobyl) and then traveling over the ocean in the jet stream, maybe they form water droplets and fall as rain for us here on the west coast. Again, I realize it's far out there and IF anything makes it here, it probably won't be much. Still, $15 is cheap to afford a first line of defense.

Seeing that they just had explosion #3 and none of us REALLY knows what's going on, I've ordered some Potassium Iodide. Since I'm out on the west coast, if the jet stream gets just right, who knows what could happen. It's doubtful that high doses of radiation could make its way over here but it's good to be prepared. $15 and I've got 960 doses. For those interested:

Get it while you can, if you're concerned. It's sold out in a lot of other places.

Looks good but for instances that have text, shouldn't there at least be a little bit of a box behind it to differentiate it from the background?

This is my only complaint as well. A little transparent box or somethin.

From a website:

"Dog-eat-dog describes a world in which people fight for themselves only and will hurt other people."

and

"It's a dog-eat-dog world means that you must first watch out for your own interests, because other people will be watching out for theirs."

It really seems like that's what you were going after.

Is the first a more "analyzed" version of the term "dog eat dog world"?

Hardware/Software / Re: SLi on Non-Nvidia Chipsets

This is mostly a reference post but I'll share for others as well. Since I sold my computer, I'm going to an AMD platform, I got to thinking about upgrading my graphics card. One thing led to another and I started looking up SLi info. Obviously it isn't supported but the SLi hack takes care of that. Here's some people running SLi on AMD boards:

At least in the older versions, I remember there being a local game setting. But I think you can just start a regular server and not open your ports. It might not show up properly in the server browser but using the open console command it should work (open 192.168.x.x). Hopefully this helps :)

An ejector seat wouldn't work in a space shuttle for many reasons.

Yup. The emergency plan they have is if something goes wrong, they release the solid rocket boosters and fuel tank then glide back to a runway.
