there are not even enough players to play the normal maps. i think its not good for the game, for me it goes together with the mod question, nothing about the original sense of this game...

in 2.8.5 u could use dx9.
2.5 is dx8 only, if im correct.
would an upgrade on dx9 for 2.5 be possible? and would it improve something on graphical perspective?

- consistent improvement of the assist-tool: news tab, integration of aa-watcher, scrim-system...
- consistent improvement of the aao25-page: make it more interesting/valid information 2 gather the comm here, bootcamp for new players, help to config the settings etc.
- rethink the honor-system/reward system, connect it to tracker ranks (u have to play diff maps...)
- maybe the tracker gets revived with aa4, hang in there to make it interesting for aa2, probl a lot of old players who try out aa4 and dont like it, would come back...
- fix the mapbugs, no need for new maps
- fix and improve tournament-mode
- training, ac...already mentioned
...

- instead of random spawn points, start with a rotation assault/defence after 7 rnds, so the playing team has to regroup the the new side and it would be the end for def whores
- the only chance for new players is probably an updated tracker with new features or even a new tracker, it was always for many players their only motivation to play... :( (dont get me wrong, its a bad thing, but hey thats the way it was/is?...)

u can not attract new players, but u can reattract old players. a lot of them played because of clanwars, tactics and teamplay. graphics, maps, etc. is not that important...
take the game "age of empires" (1997) for example, still thousands of ppl play this game just because of a great gameplay, certainly not for graphical reasons.
what is missing and what would get my old teammates back to the game would be a fun-based competition. nowadays i see a lot of teams play regulary funwars. if there was a fun-ladder, where every team could chose their map like in a funwar. i think that could help...
