he did try to install both version - the one at surgeforce and the one you did post here.
but I will ask him tomorrow.
he did download first the "regular" one at "download for free", didn't work. then I told him to download this one at this thread.
same result. he downloaded the .zip file and he did try first do run the .exe at desktop. also with admin rights. then I told him to put that at %appdata% aa25assist folder to start again from there with admin rights. the same error.
maybe he is doing something wrong, but it seems to me that he understand the part of windows os very good. so this should not be a problem at all.

a friend of mine did try both ways. the original and this one. but with both he has this error
failed to verify vital components, please check you internet connection and write permissions to assist folder and then retry
he did start the 25assist.exe with admin rights, but seems not to work. any suggestions ?

he was banned for teamkills - last time he did kill me
and unfair playing, also using glitches, also owning new members until the did leave - the whole game. many examples of it.
I did jump over my shadow - the only 2 banned on swiss are released now - until the start that shit again.

like at ACI and aapg, there is also a master banlist at aa2.
you will find it at the system folder, file is called BanList.txt.
while playing and banning a player with its ip, mac or name, the entry will be done like this:
but if you know the ip, mac or name without being in game, you can add those information also by hand. just edit this file and all good.
there is a second banlist at /system/pb folder, called pbbans.dat. this file you have to edit manualy, but you have to know the GUID of the player. then the entry looks like this:
the good thing with that ban style is that you don't have to care about changing macs and ips. its all abut the bt account. to be sure, use both files.
