I think your terminology is off. You don't "modify and practice on maap packs". You can create and edit maps for America's Army though. The best way to practice is the 2.8.5 Mission Editor.

Yea, Assist deletes alien files. You had AA 2.5 hacking files on your computer, that's why you're banned from Assist. You can still play 2.5 and 2.8.5 if you want.

It will work but you will have to disable PB or modify the whitelists. I would be very curious to see what maps you have though. Me and Blue collected everything we could, that's what the mAAp Pack is...
