Is it a Linux server? That might have something to do with it. That's why physics isn't on all maps. Mac & Linux have issues with it.

Instead of saying that, you could pretend to be helpful and ask how much bandwidth and disk space it uses, what kind of setup it is and recommend other hosts that might save us costs.

It's ONLY for the auth hosting. This website & the official game servers are sponsored by Vortex Servers. The work is volunteered.

I'm not sure what your point is, especially posting in this thread.

Well the CURL code was bogus, switched over to a fsocketopen and looks like everything works... properly. Thanks for reminding me of that function Shad.

Nope, highly customized SMF :) We're too cheap to pay for VBulletin.

I've had a hard time in the past getting connections to fail gracefully. I think I have used fsocketopen but the stat code currently on this site was rewritten by Jared and despite it having a fail check, it wasn't graceful. There's still a delay here, I've got the timeout set at 2 seconds. Might change it to 1 but it seems to be working fine.

The SMF error is due to Assist going down and causing a timeout on the PHP scripts for this site. It's the stats code that refreshes every 5 minutes when the next page is requested (by any user). Problem was, PHP's get_headers waits for a response or times out after the default 30 or 60 seconds. Once that happens, the SMF database connection gets refused and throws an error.

I've re-worked the function (again, thought I fixed it before) and it looks like it's working despite Assist being down.

I do teh Facebonkers.

I'm doing a bit of extra work on the site, installing some newer versions of mods that were on there before.

Here's what I've come up with.
http://ihf.aao25.com/

Been playing with it a few hours. I was able to get SCP and MySQL access and dump both the files and the database. I'm not sure what happened to the old site but there was far too many errors and problems to deal with so I just did a straight SMF 1.x to SMF 2.0.9 upgrade which wiped all the settings and add-ons but retained the information. The site looks boring but all of the history is there and more importantly, it's a fresh start.

In the Assist settings, change your download location to AAO25.com.

You may have to delete the Assist config file to do this.

Aside from this monthly total;

There's no public list. We have a list on the Auth server that gives people the icon but there's no total amount there either.

I sent you a PM. I know how to get a dump of the site, upgrade it to SMF 2.0 and move it to another provider where you guys can control it. That is, as long as you have an admin account.

Do you have access to CPanel on the hosting account?

I'm surprised this still hasn't gotten fixed. I remember Skrewy showing me this years ago.

Be patient for the upcoming update, it will make a lot of things much nicer. ELiZ is working hard on fixing some issues that have been around a while.

Wait for the next version of Assist that will include the ability to chose an alternate download location.

It might have been the way I compressed it. Definitely get rid of WinRAR and use 7-Zip, even if it doesn't fix the issue.
