The way I understand it, it's not about that kind of 'legal'

I understand that, I  guess everyone things PB doesn't do this......... interesting. The new PB scans the system for known processes and files so how is it any different? Only difference Assist did it. Since Assist is a free program all it needs is a simple Warning with an agree check box to be installed saying this programs does this blah blah blah..... if you agree you can play if not then it won't run.

you better read and re-read the quote.

I did and if you get the source from AA you won't need the hack detection that you think is pushing boundaries. Also if you think companies like Ubisoft and other don't do this, you are wrong. Some simply detect the offending process or file and won't let the executable run. But if source is obtained the problems can fixed internally.

Ok so legal, they have abandoned AAO 2 they moved on to 3 and now 4. They make no profit from the game I would almost bet if contacted they would turn it over to the community with no issues. The engine is old and the source is probably intact. Has that ever been approached?

The only AAO that had a linux version and now I have no AAO for now. If it was a legal issue with AA,that can be worked around. If it is all personal why not pass the torch to someone else? As Merlin said there is always a way. Some of us depend on software such as this to play games of this nature. Now I have to go back to the gaming community and report that we don't have AAO after I Just filled everyone in. It was fun almost hitting 23 again. Short run but fun.

Warning should stay but it does come on to fast. Have been completely on ground a few times before touching fire button and when do shoot end up doing the shakey shake. Now if some thing be done with the bunny hoppers. People can throw them selves down and shoot in real life. Kiss my ass if you can jump around a corner and can shoot and kill someone the split second your feet hit the floor.

yeah since there is a prone bug where is the bunny hop bug? I know this was used widely in CS and hated it. Was told when AAO first started tat ey took this into consideration and the bunny hop is not suppose to help. Center body mass is supposed to be in same position even if player hops. I just never have seen if work that way.

It would be a tragedy to get rid of tracker or remove any of its stats. It would be nice to be able to input dates to find stats due to the age and history of tracker. For example show someones stats year by year, and what not, month to month. It would be nice to see improvement over time, or to spot a hacker.

I also wish it showed rounds won compared to rounds lost. that would be a cool ratio

People who say these stats mean nothing, are simply oblivious, noobs, or dont have the brain power to see what the numbers are saying about a player. Your tracker stats are priceless and speak for your ability, compared to honor, witch is merely a representation of combined score - generally showing you simply put more time into the game than the next.

The REAL issue lies in People who get obsessed with their FR and start to try and boost it. AND those who think fr is everything.

Kills per hour, fr, score to roe are all important. If you have high in all, you are simply a better and more effective player than those with lower.

Example: Loser who has 4+ fr, but under 20 kills per hour. IS a camper and fr whore.

Where as: if your rocking 30+ kills per hour and can maintain over 2 fr, your on a good path, good effective player.

Score to roe speaks for itself, not taking reckless moves to take kills and what not.

Interesting way to put it, but you forgot there is another objective other than FR in the game. Why is it someone with a low FR is a FR whore for camping. They may be trying to complete the objective by securing the 3 on the map. Those are not counted in the stats only kills are. Also your supposed to work as a team/unit. Meaning work together not run out and hope one survives to kill the last man standing. It has become all about the kills and not the wins from securing objectives and surviving the map. Kills are kills but when you can achieve your objective without having to fight everyone who is better? You can tell who the FR whores are when you secure the objectives and end the round and they want more kills.

Ok I am with Spanky on the distance thing, and I think it's not that they are blurred but I have seen textures change on a character as they walk. From super dark to ACU. The lighting wasn't an issue it was outside daylight. Also when you die the texture goes back to pre ACU textures. What i mean by textures changing is like on pipeline, in some spots a character goes through in ACU then all of the Suddent the uniform is white (White Snow Suit, as We used to call them Bunny Suits). I have some ROE due to this. I see white instead of ACU and I pull the trigger. When we die it changing is not an issue it just isn't consistent, maybe an OCD thing.

running Kubuntu 13.04 and I have it set to pulse but before that had it set to alsa. there is a pulse audio control that you can download PAV that might help. It's not the game, it is more than likely the alsa/pav is switched to another output that you don't see. The problem I have with the linux version is I can not get out of the window to go back to desktop to open the pav controls. I usually have to set them before opening the game.

Actually, you're right. I'm sure Assist could do some voodoo so that when you join a server, it starts mumble and connects to a specific channel or whatever with people in it. It wouldn't necessarily need to be built into AA.

It also falls in line with the concept of "FREE".

It could happen but not any time soon.

You could incorporate it to use mumble. Works great on all platforms and uses little resources to none.
