Just go https://auth.aa25.org/passreset/ and enter your email (and not the username).

Bare in mind the email might end up in your spam folder.

Your new account was activated automatically within 10 minutes of your first login to the client.

As for honor, you'd need to claim it with some proof.
I did find another account with a in game name of "ROTHERR|TORONTO" and a login name of "doubledownn" at 32 honor. It's tied to a Gmail account. Last login in October 2013 (over 11 years ago!). So you may be able to recover that one if you know the email and have access to it (see the password reset link at the top under Assist Account).

I cannot see an account named 'bacini' or 'devetka' in our database.

Make sure you're using a 25Assist account to log in to 25Assist. Forum accounts are separate from 25Assist accounts.

Ban Appeals / Re: Please consider unbanning Joe131
« on: Tuesday, October 08, 2024, 03:26:42 AM »
Joe retrieved the name from a public chat related to AA. So the name was already provided and it was already public which means there cannot be a expectation of privacy. And can you publicly provide something that is already publicly available? Perhaps, but it's debatable.

What isn't debatable is that using the exact definition of that Wikipedia quote means that it is doxxing to introduce a friend to other people at a party without getting their consent first.

But I think it is clear that neither situation falls under the intended meaning of doxxing.
You are plain wrong.

I will lock this thread. Nothing will come out of it.

I see that they have very low pings compared to other players. Is there anything I can do?
Yes, absolutely!

Here's what you do:
  • Find out where the server is hosted
  • Move closer to the server

I will quote from Wikipedia]:
Quote
Doxing or doxxing is the act of publicly providing personally identifiable information about an individual or organization, usually via the Internet and without their consent.

When you tell the Starbucks employee a name (be it yours or someone else's) you effectively give them consent to use it within the context of the current interaction (i.e buying a coffee or whatever). You do not consent for further use of your name.

But what has happened in this context with Joe is that he had not been given any consent to use the name in public.

The other main difference is that - for better or for worse - people online enjoy an amount of implicit privacy. They don't tend to use their real name. Whereas in public you do. It's a different situation.

What about TAW_Gungrave or GunGrave91?
Unfortunately I don't see either of those names either.

Ban Appeals / Re: free me

Hi Joe,

Thank you for your appeal. The staff team has taken some time to evaluate your appeal and has reached a decision.

Unfortunately, we feel like your appeal - to a large part - attempts to a) deflect attention from your documented actions; and b) create justifications for said actions. It does not seem to adequately convey an understanding of these actions.

As such we are unable to accept your appeal at this time.

We understand that your actions were not done in a vacuum. But the actions of others were not the reason for your ban. Your actions were. If you believe someone has acted egregiously against our terms of service, please point it out to us with some evidence to back up your claims and we will be able to weigh said evidence separely.

Our duty here is for the wider community. We would love for everyone to act like mature adults and for us to not have to interfere in the game unless there's cheating involved. However, when the actions of an individual affect a large portion of the community in a severely negative way and produce an unwelcome environment, we are forced to step in.

So TLDR:
Your appeal was denied.

Unfortunately we do not have any further information.

All I can tell you is that there is no account by that name in our database.

Which samsung you have??

I haven't installed aa2.5 in my main computer

I got this
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CDQMQQS2?ref=cm_sw_r_cso_fm_apan_dp_8Y3CDJDGDV1PMYT2GP9M&ref_=cm_sw_r_cso_fm_apan_dp_8Y3CDJDGDV1PMYT2GP9M&social_share=cm_sw_r_cso_fm_apan_dp_8Y3CDJDGDV1PMYT2GP9M&starsLeft=1&skipTwisterOG=2
You don't need to install it to see what it'll look like. I've give you a step by step guide:
1. Find (or take) a screenshot of the game with another computer
2. Copy said screenshot to the one with the wide screen monitor
3. Open the screenshot and zoom in far enough that the sides of the screenshot hit the side of the screen
4. Bask in the glory of the little sliver of AA you can see :)

PS:
It'll go from something like this:

To something glorious like this:

As you've clearly discovered, this is an old game. Built on an old engine (Unreal Engine 2). The game and engine were released over 2 decades ago. At the time, "wide screen" didn't really exist in the form that it does nowadays.

So TLDR. No, there is no option for you to see further than other people by using a wider monitor. It's just not something that would have made any sense to pursue at the time.

Now, there might be ways to get the game working better with a wide screen aspect ratio. But it's not really something we're in a position to do, I'm afraid. It's not like we have access to any of the source code for the game, for instance.
And even if this was done, many people who've played this game for decades would complain that someone with a weird aspect ratio screen is getting an advantage over them. Whether a real or imagine advantage, doesn't really matter. What matters is that 25Assist caters to more or less 1 audience. And that is the people who used to play this game "back in the day". Whether they've been playing all these years, or have just picked it back up again, most of the people in this audience want an experience similar to what they remember. And that won't be a wide screen immersive gaming experience, I'm afraid.

Unfortunately there is no account by that name in our database.

We didn't inherit the user database from the US Army nor Battletracker. So unfortunately we don't have the user details of every player that was ever registered on either site.
We only migrated accounts that used to log in through 25Assist using their Battletracker login details back when BT was still up.

As for an honor claim, you would need to present some evidence of your previous honor.

You could potentially get something from the massively popular youtube channel:
https://www.youtube.com/@AAO25Assist

You probably don't want to copy the entire videos, but you might be able to get snippets and/or stills and post a link to the video.

Spoke too soon, one more issue ->

"Error setting display mode: CreateDevice failed (D3DERR_INVALIDCALL). Please delete your armyops.ini file if this error prevents you from starting the game."

Edit: Didn't really change much but made it into a server. Maybe false alarm? Also noticed my honor is at 17 instead of 110. Guessing honor got reset at some point in time? No big deal, I actually don't care, more just curious.

Honor wasn't reset unless you created a new account.

In fact, I've checked, and you do have 2 accounts. The other one has the login name "[except!on]".

This may come as a surprise to you but, AA2 is a lot older than the project you're referencing (around 2 decades older, in fact). America's Army 2.0 was released November 6 2003. On Unreal Engine 2.
UEVR was started (at least on GitHub) in September 2022. That's 19 years later. Currently it supports UE versions 4.8 - 5.4.

So yes, AA does run on Unreal Engine. But it's an old version of the engine, so it would not be compatible with new things like URVR.

Therefore, the underlying question becomes moot, unfortunately.
