Yeah, I'm currently trying to figure out how to make it less open, where you can't see the other spawn.

THAT was always the hard part for me. I can make buildings but I don't know how to decorate them accurately. It took me forever to throw stuff around the south end of Pipeline.

I think it's up to the admin, just emptying the folder.

I don't really see a difference:

But it doesn't hurt to send out mass e-mails.

That's a pretty good idea. I'll see what I can do. :)

Every so often one of my rusted gears will break loose and my brain will function long enough to come up with a halfway decent idea :)

How about make the objective below the elevator and then have the elevator go down when someone is in it and take them down into the objective. This way they could still be shot while in the elevator and might make for an epic round where someone tosses a nade in at the last moment and they're trapped with it.

did anyone tested the SF classes?

I loaded them in the editor and they show up as playerstarts but I didn't put them in a map. I'm too lazy to test.

The general purpose of Assist is to dispel pretty much all hacks. If you have something better, what's wrong with getting it to work globally?

I sent you a PM explaining it.

General Chat / Re: Americas Army Sound tweaking
« on: Wednesday, May 09, 2012, 19:06:45 PM »
if you're pubbing you don't need any tweaks for sound , as it makes no difference , since you're playing like what 10 vs 10 , it's all going to get mixed up. However in a match , usually 4v4 , it makes a difference.

So, you're saying that a hardware accelerated sound device capable of handling more sounds at once will only make a difference with less people in a server? Hmmm, here I thought that more people in a server would mean more sounds like footsteps, gunfire and reloads. Guess not.

I think it would be fascinating to challenge a gamer's tweaked settings that they likely use with some Logitech headset or speakers versus a dedicated DAC, amp and quality headphones or speakers. I know with the X-Fi you can tweak things to hell and back, throwing quality out the window but I would wonder how that compares to accurately reproduced sound with a quality system, allowing you to hear all the sounds properly pronounced.

I'll agree. AA is quite unique in that fashion I think, especially when compared to modern games. It's also old enough to take partial advantage of X-Fi although I would bet that there isn't a huge difference, especially after seeing most of the maps zones not having any kind of EAX effect applied. I would imagine there's times where quite a few sounds are played at once so it probably helps there.

Since you're changing the lighting, why not ramp up the coronas to 1.2x or 1.5x their original size. Might look better.

It's good to see you're jumping in with BSP and not just noobing around with placing random hovering meshes everywhere.

revuka , i doubt anyone's interested in your x-fi tweaks , after all these guys are pubbers only , no competitive players whatsoever

Why so serious? It's just a game. I lol at "competitive" gamers and their need to make up for a lack of skill with tweaks.

Woah woah chill , spanky where did i ever say it will be mandatory?

To be effective, it has to be mandatory. I was thinking that it would be for everybody, not just for league participation. I know now that it would only be possible under league settings and that it would be way too costly in terms of dollars and man hours to implement it full time.
