What is your OS?

Windows 7, he said it in the other thread.

I'm pretty sure this is the same thing Assist has but it's worth a shot...

Do anything you feel like, just mark it in the changelog so the guys know who to blame if something's messed up.

Try to only have 1 thread. It doesn't really matter where it is, people will check it. Since you tried the Assist PB Fix, there's really not much else you can do. Do you have an Admin account?

Isn't ArmA like tons of players? You gotta remember that Unreal Engine 2 was made in probably 2002-2003, the netcode is almost a decade old, it's not that complex or demanding. I would be curious to see a pingtest.net result on your internet, maybe there's other issues going on.

I think I've run AA servers on a 1.2GHz Pentium 3 and a 2.4GHz Pentium 4 and by far the weak point was my internet connection. The last thing I would worry about is RAM too. I have 2GB in my server now and with uTorrent, World Community Grid and a few other programs going, I can run an AA server and still have RAM to spare.

*EDIT*
I think we be trolled by your massive nets. Run 10 servers, not that it will contribute anything to AA, the game needs more players than servers.

Overkill IMO. That $60+ would be better spent as $5 or $10 a month more to your ISP for faster speeds, especially if you have multiple computers in the house.

Higher clock per core will be better for AA due to the game being single-core (no outside tweaks will ever change this). I don't think you need a fast CPU for the server though, I think it's more dependent on disk speed (map changing) and internet latency.

I always copied from another map. Doing squads and weapon layouts... it's boring. I focus on the map more than I do the playerstarts or objectives.

edit tours.ini

This is too much hassle and requires the other people to have the map too. My method is by far the easiest as people can still join via the Assist browser while the server is on Bridge.

Run an Assist server, start it on Bridge, have everybody join and then move the server over via "admin a_open mapname.aao".

Never heard of that before. Has to be the graphics card/driver.

graphical prob. I think

Update DirectX (Assist has an option to do that) and update your GPU drivers.

General Chat / Re: My Army Icon?
« on: Friday, June 01, 2012, 21:14:51 PM »
Then all they do is simply sign register to battletracker, and you will have an in game Military Icon without being in the military.

That's not how it works. The OP of this topic has THE ONLY Army icon in the entire game because he's the only one that's requested it. It doesn't matter what e-mail you use to register with BattleTracker, they're just for account and statistics. The Assist auth server controls icons and honor modification.

Still though, it's only just an icon...

Are you wanting to keep on with printing work? Or is it just a job until you can pursue your passion? I know you enjoy the book work that you do though.

I think all the USA states have their share of rural areas. Idaho, Montana and Wyoming are more rural though but there still are big cities. I'm 20 minutes from 2 20k cities and an hour from a 45k population city. If you ignore the raping of the land that farmers do, Idaho does have a lot of natural beauty.

Koden, your English job title is on the tip of my tongue. It's not editor but... something close.

Anyway, I'm a 22 year old self employed computer technician. I advertise computer repair, custom builds, networking and more to the local community. Pays decently and I can dictate my own hours which leaves me time for small engine repair and working around my property.
