By responsive issues I mean that if you don't have the proper frames, you can't respond in-game as fast because you're getting delayed info on the screen. I have a 8600GT with 256MB of RAM and that's really not enough for the game. Some maps will use more than 256MB of video memory. I would say the minimum RAM is 320MB or 512MB for highest detail.

blint, it's not just that. Although, I bet that is part of it. It's that the vast majority of players are boring whores. The same boring maps, the same borderline exploiting tactics, the same kids. It's just the kind of crowd that AA draws being a free old game that runs on crappy computers. Jonny had hopes of making the Linux and Mac community more involved in AA, being that 2.5 is cross-platform. He had hopes of it being a serious combat game, not a "50 rounds on Bridge with dropshots and every man for himself" game.

That and then the hacks that various groups are creating helps to degrade the game and push away serious players.

Killa thinks it's delusional to be this optimistic in changing AA but it's really not. With the vast majority of players having moved to 2.8 and now that Auth was gone, Jonny saw an opportunity to remake AA and turn it into something fantastic. I'll admit, we all had great ideas before Auth went down. Things to fundamentally change about the game that would make gameplay and features better. Ultimately, the same old community came back with the same old gameplay.

2.5 hasn't changed in the last 4-5 years, that's the problem.

Except he has full knowledge of the entire workings and setup of the current version of Assist.

There has to be a road for the homes... Plus, the scenario is kind of that a vehicle break-down or IED caused the convoy on the road to stop and secure the buildings for the night which are actually hostile then escape in the boats.

This guy has sent me e-mails yesterday and today:

If you think I'm THAT corrupt, you're wrong. Plus, it's not as simple as making a new account, you would have to get a new computer due to the hardware id that Assist generates. Otherwise, it would be a new name on the same hardware id and it would be a linked account and the account would be banned, no questions asked. Sorry man, you had your chance and now it's gone. If you wish to discuss this further, I suggest talking on the forums as I won't reply to any new e-mails.

Sincerely,
Nate Rowe

Honestly why??  You click a few times, unban me, then somehow I do it again. I gut automatically   Banned and you never hear another word from me.  Except I won't get banned.... And I know ur gonna say, but then everyone else will want the same.  Except that won't happen because either a, we don't say anything, or b, I make a new account....

I don't know what to tell you. You went on a hacking site and downloaded a hack. What did you expect? I think you thought you could get past a server ban but didn't know that Assist can permanently ban you globally on all servers. Your ban won't change, even if we believed your story.

you said "If you know how to access Assist files in the AppData folder, then you know enough about the computer that your monitor has brightness controls as does your GPU and the game itself."

yes i just followed what it said to do, not that hard. and i am using a laptop.  and for me playing aa2 for awhile maybe you should have checked my battletracker profile to see how long i have played on that account.  And i wasn't trying JUST to change the brightness, i was trying to check out some of the graphical features that the game has to offer that my crappy video card won't allow because i cant turn up the graphics without it crashing.  and that "hack" has a super brightness option.... so i know that i am telling the truth bro

Thanks for the comments guys, thanks also for the screenshots, it makes the map look better than it is :D

You guys have given me motivation and reason to keep working on it so I will :) If you have any suggestions on the map, I'll add them.

Right now, I'm thinking of trees (obviously), moving tire swing by the buildings, random bird sounds triggered when you walk around, spooky wind or other sounds, a couple cars or perhaps a junkpile between creek and buildings, maybe a shack by the river bridge for objective cover.

Jonny knows Assist better than anybody. Granted, Pit has coding experience and did create a patch for Assist which was added in.

I have PM's from Jonny over the last 4 months that really explain his leaving in a practical sense. I don't think he's mad or has hatred for the community, he's just tired of the bullshit (bans, hacks, immaturity) and disappointed to see that AA isn't taken seriously and has a poor player base (quality, not quantity). I would post those PM's here but I don't want to violate that privacy.

I will say that I hope Pit steps up and does some work soon, he's 2.5's last hope. I know there's a lot of potential with Pit, I hope future releases reflect that.

I think max can get one when 7.2 is released, then he'll have contributed something which everybody has access to.

Na, most people had a favorable view of Ak4 (like me) until they were actually in the clan.

This.

It was a different time back then...

It just kicks and bans (temporarily) you from the server. The global banning is up to Assist admins.
